Nothing, just a kid speeding down the road. His air bag kept him safe, of course....

I should probably know this, but I'll ask anyway. Is your husband a policeman? Or do you have really nice police there? I am glad to hear he is improving!

    Morning!
    Today is moving day.

Jack is stable from yesterdays move to a regular room and sleeping mostly. I know today that the Physical Therapist, plans to work him more today.

He has to be able to get in and out of his wheel chair to be able to be released. More than that, of course, but that is one marker.

How he knows the police so well.....

Jack is the Theater Director of the local Convention center and performance hall. ie: The Boss

Our last major rock concert was STYX. But mostly it is convention business, and Orchestra, Ballet, etc.

Because it is a city owned building, he works daily with the Mayor, the police and the fire department. He's done this for three years. Before that he was the Technical Services Manager of the Compaq Center. (Former home of Houston Rockets, Now home of Joel Osteens' Lake Wood Church, the largest Mega Church in the USA)

Jack helped consult on this new building and opening, and ended up running the building.

This is also a small town, although we are near Houston and surrounded by big city life. There are no PASTURES out here! haha!.

The first EMT on he scene was the son of one of the ladies that work for Jack in the office! He knew Jack by name and was calling to him to come to and to wake up.

Also, we belong to a huge eclectic homeschool support group with all kinds of people in it.

One of the ladies in the group, who was watching my babies and washing my clothes today, is married to one of the police officers that works for the Police Department.

The young man who hit Jack is the son of a man who uses the building frequently for his companies events.

Did I mention it was a SMALL TOWN?

Anyway, we have been surrounded by support and love and we are so very greatfull.

    Thanks guys!
My computer is getting unplugged today and I do not have internet at the new unit yet, so just pray and give me time, I will be back on sometime. Most likely after Jack comes home next week.

    Give God the Glory!

So, since Jack will have all this time on his hands when he gets home, will he be visiting us all? We don't get many DH's here, but he's welcome!!!

Wow! Jen! What an awesome thing to have your heart so full of gratitude at a time like this! I really admire that! I've been praying that you'll be strong for your children, and I see that you are far exceeding the scope of my prayers!

I have a very special favor to ask of you, and I'll understand completely if you decline: you might think it would take some of the gilding off of your poem if I would share it. See, I've been searching for something extra-meaningful for a group of home-town friends who are planning a get-together next month, and I haven't come up with anything that gets to the heart of friendship and appreciation quite like your words do. I know your poem was born because of the friendship and love which is being wrapped around your family during this time of crisis, and it seems almost "sac religious" to use it in any other context, but it is so eloquent! I'd be so honored if you'd let me use it!

Like others, I'm praying with tears in my eyes but a smile in my heart for you!

I hope he gets home soon, Jen, did the person responseble go to jail?

I'm glad you are able to move to ground floor since he will be in a wheel chair for a while.

Hugs to you and the kids.

still praying here, Jen. What a blessing that he is progressing so quickly and can be home so soon after such a devastating accident.

I can't help but think of things you have shared about your childhood, and I am praising God that you truly have found people you can trust, rely on and love and that loves you!! God is good, and even when we can't always see it immediately, He IS always with us!!

    Love you, girl!!

AMen I agree with what you said Leslie, me too! I keep thinking of how God is showing her His love and HIs care of her needs!
It is amazing how things and people are just coming together for her!
Jen, I was wondering if they have a prognoses for how long he will be in chair and if he will need to be doing back surgery ? Did they put pins in his pelvic bone? My bil had that done from an accident simliar to your hubby had thats why I am wondering. It was years ago but he eventually had pins removed and coaches baseball for his son occasionally too!

I'll say "Amen" to Leslie's post, too. It's great that Jen can feel God's arms of love, in human form, wrapped around their family.
