I have to attend to the coop this morning.

Then some last minute tidying up and double checking clothes for tonight.

Fix lunch, then prepare the dinner for tonight. We have to church service to attend and will eat between. There are two hours between.

Then tonight the kids will unwrap a gift or two and off to bed. I have some things hidden in the car to wrap.

Tommorow will be relaxing with Christmas dinner around 4pm.

My bil really threw us unto a tail spin yesterday!!!

We always meet with DH's family Christmas Day. My parents have compromised by having us on Christmas Eve. That's always worked well. We have dinner with Mom and Dad, go to church with them, and then open presents with them. On Christmas morning, we open our presents to each other, go to his parents' place, eat, and then open more presents.

Well, my fil has been dead for a while now, my mom passed away three years ago, and my mil died just this past October. We were suppose to get together at my bill's place at noon. I told this to my dss and his family (two hours away), but they weren't able to come anyway, due to dss' work schedule. I invited Dad, my aunt, and another guy we know whose family lives out of state tonight for dinner. We'll meet Dad at the church at 4:30, and eat afterwards.

YESTERDAY!!! we learned that the dinner at my bill's in TODAY, not tomorrow!!! We leave in an hour to go there. I'm going crazy trying to get everything done, plus figuring out what needs to be done food-wise for people coming here. If I had realized, I would have had them tomorrow, plus starting Christmas celebrations at noon the day before, rather than Christmas Eve, is pushing me a bit far.

Sigh.... It wasn't intentional; I guess we were there when it was discussed, but both Carl and I missed it. Am glad Greg called yesterday, or we would have showed up a day late!!! And we all need to do what we can to keep peace in the family, especially this close to my mil's death. Next year, I'm going to volunteer to host it (we'll be living in my mil's house), and they'll have to follow MY schedule, lol!

Sounds like a crazy couple of days Jackie. Praying peace for you as you work through it. :)

For us, My DH works until around lunch time. We'll wrap his presents while he is away. Right now the kids are sneaking in a morning cartoon. We cleaned yesterday for a playdate that ended up getting cancelled, but that means only laundry is on my chore list for today.

We prepare 'monkey bread' before church and it rises. We come home from church and pop it in the oven while we make dinner. After dinner we'll watch a Christmas movie, eat warm monkey bread, and then open one gift (usually pajamas).

Christmas morning is our personal Christmas together, then at lunch time we go to my mother-in-law's house for presents and a big Christmas dinner with cousins and some close family friends.

My to do list is remarkably short this year! Only presents to wrap and some laundry to do. DD helps prepare the Monkey Bread after lunch. :)

    Merry Christmas all!

Home from Round One. Well, I guess Carl's family decided they WERE NOT going to do presents. But somehow that message didn't get to us! But, rather than individual presents for he nieces and nephews, we made a "movie night" package of popcorn, candy, pop, and a video for the entire family. But I felt like a real jerk giving it when no one else gave anyone anything! And we thought the dinner was going to be from the nice restaurant where my sil works. She gets an incredible amount of free food each year, and it was suppose to come out of that. Instead, it was chips and potato salad from the Kroger's Deli, though they did have BBQ pork and chicken from City BBQ that was pretty good. My mil had home-made pies in her freezer that we were suppose to have; don't know what became of them, because we had a pecan and an apple pie from Kroger's. Sigh.... At least my ham is done! I put it in the electric roaster, so it cooked while we were there. And tomorrow, I think we're going to take the kids to see the Hobbit. Sorry I'm so b&$#*y today. I'm trying to chose to have a good attitude!
