Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I was SOOO emotionally drained I just needed to not talk about it for awhile. And that still is the case. At some point, I'll write about all of the (injust) details of it all.

In the meantime, THANK YOU for your prayers and well-wishes.

We will be moving to a new place at the end of the month. BUT--the "old" landlords continue to get away with murder. We went to court today, to request an abatement of the rent because they never fixed our windows and the judge's attitude was "oh, well, you'll be leaving in two weeks. How dare you waist the court's time with this".

The landlords said in court that they would come by TODAY, within 1 1/2 hours, to fix the windows and the judge said "So there you go. They'll fix the windows.". Well, we are still waiting, 3 hours later. surprise, surprise. But they get their way!!!

Should I email the judge and tell him that they have totally "duped" him too?

I wouldn't bother emailing the judge. Just get moved and forget the nonsense these people put you and your family through. A fresh start is just about here for you. Enjoy it and I will be praying for you all. Beth

My sister had a hard time with her former landlord.
The windows leaked, the house was hard to heat, she fixed things, including the kitchen floor, out of her own money. In the end, the landlord tried keeping her security deposit, trying to make it seem like she fixed damage she herself did! The landlord finally released her money much later, but it was a very draining and frustrating time for my sister.
