Our tub is stopped up.! The sink had been and dh dumped drain o down it. That seemed to work for a few days. Then the tub started backing up. DH put drain o down it. Wont work. And the toilet bubbles when the dishwasher is running.( and stops up most of the time) Now the bathroom sink is backing up and bubbles when the tub is TRYING to drain ARRRRRRR!!!!!!

Sounds like we have a major plug somewhere is what dh says. He is going to get a plumbing snake at Home Depot to see if that will help. I would try some of the things you ladies have suugested but they wont drain at all. My kids got a bath for church, but there is water standing in the tub now. So dh and I cannot get a bath. So I guess we dont go. I wont go without a shower. *sigh* Sorry about this, just needed to vent.

    OH NO!
I am sorry. I never realized how much I love my functioning drains until they stopped draining.:|
Plugged or backed up drains really do mess things up around the house. Keep us posted. I am interested in hearing what the problem is.

try using the plunger over the tub drain. Perhaps the force of the plunger can get what ever is in the line to move along enough to get the water to go down. (sorry if you already tried that).

I have to do that sometimes to the kids' bathroom sink....... for some reason they think that they can dry their hands with toilet paper????

My dh just got a hand snake for the drain in our tub. It is slow running, so I suppose he thinks that's why he can wait a few days to fix it. LOL. I would do it myself but it says I have to pour a rust resister down the drain after using it. So, I guess I have to wait until he picks that up.

I hate it when my drain is clogged! UGH! Happens about once year. It was so worth the plumber's bill the last time. I think it cost about $80. I am just hoping the snake we have works. Hope yours does also.

I feel for you, we just spent $80 on a plumber because our tub was clogged too and would come up in the toilet and sink.

We tried hot water in it and liquid plumber and that snake but it was too far down

Plumber unplugged it but found out the pipe broke down under our house so everything was flowing under it including septic waste ewwwww.

Hubbie fixed it temporary till it dries then poor thing has to go down again. They had told me if they did it, it would have cost over $1500 sigh..

Good luck with yours hope you have better luck

We had a plumber come out a few months ago. At first he was going to charge $100. When Handsome told him he wanted to look around a bit more for a lower price, the man said he would come out for $60. :D

We had that issue, spent $90.00 and a camera was put down our sewer line only to discover the issue was on the city service line side. There were 2 buckled joints that were concreted together wrong which for many years left us with a slow sewer line. The tree roots penetrated and caused the sewer to stop running all together. After spending thousands of dollars over the years to fix a problem that wasnt ours, the city fixed it! Their service line, their problem!

Hope it gets better for you, I feel your frustration.

My dh fixed it!!!!! Im so happy. :D
It slowly drained last night and we were able to get quick showers and make it to church. He went and bought a snake this morning and ran it down the sink. Oh yuck. He brought up a big hair ball with ponytail holders. lol. Myself and my 2 dds have really long hair. And we have tons of hair thingys. They are always falling down the drain. That fixed the sink.

He ran it down the tub. Even worse! Brought up a HUGE hair ball covered in black slime EWWWWW!!!! Although I think he was being worse than me. He kept saying "Give me something to grab this with". He didnt want to touch it.lol I am the type of person that just does whatever needs to be done. I said "Oh, just grab it, good grief" LOL

But that seemed to be the problem and it started draining while we still had the snake in the drain. So thats the end of that. (I hope)

glad that worked for you. I'm sure we have lots of hair things and ear rings down the drain (especially in our bathroom sink wich is draining slow... it doesn't have a stopper).

That is wonderful!!!! I am so happy for you! I know what a relief that is. Yet, I am still waiting for my dh to fix my drain...at least it is slow running. lol. He insists I wait for that dumb rust protecter that was recommended. lol.

Anyway, I am sure your drain will be fine for quite sometime. You need one of those catcher thingys on your drain to keep so much hair and stuff from going down the drain.

Dont I know it. lol The little thing inside the sink drain wont hold on to the stopper. So it will just stay closed. We just took it out. (if this makes any sense lol)
