We've been trying to find a topic to study in a unit study/lapbook format..I have this one book where 1 side is on beavers and the other is on chipmunks..today we started with Beavers. She even sounds "interested" in the activities I have planned LOL, with Madison I have to keep the interst there and draw the info out of her. Originally I took a piece of poster board and wrote "what we know" what we'd like to know about and "what we learned" then had it laminated so I can use my dry erase markers on it. we filled up the what we know/what we want to know about sections within minutes and then off to the library to get books. This will lead into studying habitats and hopefully we will make a terrarium with a baby frog or something..who knows. 1 activity I have planned is to make a dam out of craft sticks. field trip is to the nature center where they have pelts and stuffed "real" beavers/animals. Anyone have any good sites we can get info on? I got some info from various sites but I get all confused sometimes trying to word it in the right way. Ohh and we are doing a unit study on Genesis 1:1 trying to make that fun too...
Did you want ideas for the lap book? Not that I am any great shakes at lap booking, but we have done a few. As to Gen 1:1 I have a lot links and ideas, but it encorporates the next few verses up to 5. I do have just 1:1 as a Bible verse though, so here are those. http://misslink.org/children/biblestories/color/gen1.html colouring http://www.calvarywilliamsport.com/pz69.htm slightly older kids colouring http://www.msssbible.com/memoryverses/createyourown/numberonepuzzle.htm this can be used to write the verse on then cut up and glued back down like a puzzle. http://www.hubbardscupboard.org/Joyful_Heart_Tune_-_Genesis_1_1.PDF song with actions for younger kids. http://www.dltk-bible.com/genesis/memory.htm picture card of the verse. Sorry I didn't know what age range you were after. HTH
