What to do about stinky hair? The kids swim daily at the neighbor's and there is usually a fire going in the fire pit, so the kids' hair has really absorbed some nasty odors. I tried a "clarifying" shampoo, but it didn't help. Any suggestions on brands or tactics to get their hair smelling nice again?

Maybe a vinegar rinse would help? Just dilute vinegar and water and rinse after shampooing. I haven't tried it for that kind of "problem" but it might work.

Biolage Hydrating Shampoo & Biolage Detanging Conditioner

We use Biolage's Hydrating Shampoo and Detangling Conditioner at our house. The hydrating one might be good to rotate with your clarifying shampoo simply because a clarifying shampoo strips the hair of all the gunk. With swimming and being outdoors using a hydrating product helps put moisture back in. Did that make any sense? :)

Anyway, my kids hair will tend to smell sweaty or have a smoke smell also as one set of grandparents smoke. They don't smoke in their house while we're visiting but the smokey smell is still there. I know Biolage can be pricey depending on where you can find it but it goes a long ways and the shampoo really lathers up nice which makes me feel like all of those bubbles are washing away the dirt & sweat.

Hope you find something that works for you. Have a great weekend.

Vinegar and a baking soda mixture with a drop of shampoo, rinse and then wash/cond as usual.
