I know many of you have prayed for my family over the past 6 1/2 months Scott has been out of work and sick. I would love to ask it of you again. He is taking 5 weeks of physical therapy and it seems to help some but at the same time if bothering his hip and leg. I am praying this isn't another back problem that they didn't fix while in there. They did tell me he had two herniated disks that they didn't mess with and deterating disk disease in his lower disk. We so need him to get better and go back to work at the first of the year. Please pray for him. Thanks ever so much, Lorna
Maybe the new therapy is a strain if he has had lots of bed rest, I hope it gets better. Lorna, does he qualify for ssi yet?
Thanks. The therapist thinks maybe it is due to not doing any type of exercise in so long of a time. Thanks to all of you, Lorna
Lorna, the best thing that keeps my lower back, hips & knees from hurting is glucosamine. Sometimes I think it may not be all that necessary; but within weeks of not taking any, I'm aching again. It might not heal what is already damaged, I don't know; but it probably strengthens what's left. The bottle says, "Glucosamine provides the building blocks for constructing cartilage to promote mobility and flexibility for comfortable joint movement." You might research this. Each body has unique needs, so I'm just sharing what works for me. I'm praying that you'll find exactly the right help your husband needs!
Lorna, I never even thought to ask exactly what was happening with his back. My Dh Rod has almost the exact problems as Scott. Rod was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease and also has two herniated disks. He was off work for 6 months a year ago. Our insurance wouldnt pay for the surgery that was needed, they said it was/is too new. He is doing better now by going to a chiropractor and massage therapy weekly. He also lost 40 pounds, that really helped. I will continue to pray for Scott.
His mom and sister have degenerative disk disease. Other members of his mom's family too so it must be inherited. He didn't do anything to hurt his back at all that we know of except about 4 years ago he was in a wreck and took therapy on his back after that so it could be a flare up to that wreck I guess. When the problems started he was walking 4/5 miles a day for exercise. Yes, losing weight would help alot since he has gained some since not being able to walk and move over the last months. He actually has lost 15 lbs already. He needs at least 15 more but I do too. LOL Lorna
