Either is fine as long as they don't mooch. Once they leave the nest, they're on their own!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would be more patient and understanding!!!

Based on innocent/sweet starts (such as how Britney Spears started), and then how they end up as they get older (and how she is now! Plus many stories of sweet starts and bad endings), would you allow your child to go into acting?

    No way!!!

Would you allow you child to go to a performing arts school that is in another state, which means they would not live with you?

I would not allow my child to go to a performing arts school. Period. See last answer re: leaving the nest and continual mooching. :)

What time will you be in bed and asleep?

I will probably be in bed by midnight.

    Mooching...that is interesting...I understand that...which leads to a quesiton:

Would you help your child with a down payment on a home? Keep in mind, the downpayment you would give them would not strain your bank account.

IF I had an unlimited supply of Cash, I would yes. And I would give it to them totally and out right. MY mom gave us money from the sale of her home that once helped us with furniture for our home and once helped us buy a van so we could go up and see her twice a year! She got such a blessing over being able to do that and though we did not keep tabs and they needed money we sent them money or paid bills for them later in her years. It was nice to have that not a hindrance in our being able to help her, since she helped us!
I would think it would be a good president to set, with the "pay it forward" type of mentality added to it!

Still on kids... would you let your teen ager date?

    No.

Would you allow your child to drive at 16 or would it depend on their maturity level?

Good question...my dad always paid for mine. His deal was that he would pay the insurance and we would pay the car. LOL....my dad paid for my car in full...so I didn't end up paying either! lol. I love my dad. So, I guess I would offer my kids the same deal. However, if there was no car payment....I would have them pay the insurance. I want to teach responsibility but I also don't want to overwhelm them with bills. So, I will help but they will also.

At what point do you say to your adult child that it is time to leave the nest?

When the adult child has a job and can support him/herself. OR when he goes off to college!

HMm or maybe I should ask that...
Do you consider your AC gone when he/she is off to college?

No, I don't. I can't say I would completely support the child...but they are not gone. I think I still have some responsibility until a BA is achieved. Again, I would be a safety net...NOT a bank...LOL. After four years or a two year program...then they are expected to be on their own.

Do you want your child to live with you during college or live away during college?

may sound strange with home school and all, but I would love for my child to live away while college, but I hear stories about some things that are not so good so I think it would depend on what type of college university etc that he/she would go to.

What type of the above mentioned would you want your child to go to? Ivy League? State U. Community C?
    trade school?

yes only if they have to though. we have aa college fund, so if they get a scholarship they can live off that if they want during college.

    No, but Jen will! :)

My sister-in-law had a baby on April Fool's Day! It was interesting what happened: When we were first married, I told my dh I didn't want to have kids near Christmas or on April Fool's Day! Then his sister had her first baby on December 23, and her 2nd on April 1! That was so funny to me! I thanked her, since she took those days I wouldn't need to have my kids then! :)

Do you all just love this time of life---the pregnancy and birth and finally seeing and holding that little life you've been carrying around? (I do!!!)
