I finally called someone to have our piano tuned (we've had it for about a year!). Does $100 sound like a reasonable price? This is the first time I've done anything like this.
It does to me. Actually, I think I paid more than that last time I had ours tuned, but that was a couple years ago.
Last year we had ours tuned at Church. It would have cost 85.00 but he charged 50.00 because it is a Church. I think 100.00 is about right.
I pay $70.00 to have our piano tuned. BUT! Since he is so reasonable, he also has most of the business in this city and surrounding areas. For this reason it usually takes a few days to a week for him to schedule our tuning in, but it is worth the wait. Everybody else I have called runs from $80-$95.
It's a good price. Piano tuning is a lost art. I still have some tuning forks around somewhere. It was always a fascinating experience to listen to the tuner do his work.
