It took us a few years to get Debt free and besides the mini weekend vacations we took to the beach twice in all those years we havent took a major trip in a long time so I am lost on what to do and how to organize for it my head is about to explode I can really use some help from y'all.

Here it is in a nutshell

*Two weeks Fly to Seatle from San Antonio Drive to Twi Cities both ways-Got reservations for plane just not car yet. We plan to take our time with driving incase we get snowed in.
*Staying with Family but plan to come back early to Seatle to tour a bit have ordered tourist package.
*Farm is going to be taken care of by my dad who lives right next door so dont have to worry about mail or stopping paper-Animals will be taken care of
*Have started checking our winter clothes for winter up there

I havent flew in long time I have heard it has changed so much any ideas? We are going SouthWest non stop

Any helpful hints would be appreciated

    Sam

First thing I would do is check southwest's website for their baggage rules...I know bags must be less than 50lbs, and I think that southwest is one of the few that doesn't charge for the first checked bag but almost all airlines now charge for additional baggage...but still check with the airline. Also I don't know how old your children are but plan on one small bag per child with a few "snacks" if permitted by the airline and some activties for the child. In your and your dh's carry on I suggest taking one change of clothing for each person and any items of value (jewelry, electronics, etc). Also to avoid disaster later double bag (ziploc bag) any liquid items like shampoo/toothpaste. But the biggest thing is to check with the airline on baggage size and not allowed items.
