i've never posted like this here, but i just wanted to ask... my best friend in the entire world, who is also my cousin and was my housemate for a few years before dh and i got together, left today to head out west for work....we live in prince edward island, and he's going to alberta, driving all the way out on his own..... it'll prolly take him four or five days (or maybe six) to get to his final destination....and i just wondered if i could ask, if you can, prayers for his safety while traveling and while out there, as well as for his wife who is staying behind here on her own, would be really helpful..... i'm not sure how long he'll be out there...a lot of people from here have headed west for better paying jobs (wages are WAY higher) and they do it for a year or so, sometimes more, whatever it takes to get themselves and their family back home ahead financially.....he *might* get to come home at christmas or a bit later for a week, he doesn't know... might not...... his lovely wife here is going to miss him something awful, as are we -- he's my cousin, but the kids see him as an uncle and not a 'second cousin' or whatever....because he's like a brother to me....his wife is very close with us as well... i actually set them up ..she was my son's special needs assistant back years ago when he was in daycare..... my first and only ever matchmaking and it worked  anyway yeah...i'm worried about him driving out - he's driving a not-the-most-reliable '91 saturn and he's all alone.....that's a looooooooooooooong old drive, right across country.....he's quiet and kinda shy, so i hope that when he does get there, he's able to make some friends and not be too homesick --- all his family is pretty much here, except one cousin who's working out there as well...(he'll be crashing with him for a while).... so if you can...a little word to the big guy upstairs to keep him safe and for both him and her to have strength during their time apart.... thank you...
I will be praying for he and his wife, too. I don't know if I could handle my dh being away like that. It would be a hard, hard thing!!
thank you  ...it's going to be so strange having him gone....they don't have any children - this is actually part of the reason he's doing it... they want children, but he wants to have some financial security before having them... thank you
