Today we didn't get any work done because there is a lizard in our house. We spent some time trying to catch it. We gave up when it went under Sami's rug. She is now afraid to go in her room because she's afraid she'll squish the lizard under the rug.

Sami wants to know if we can keep it for a pet. IF we cant catch it I don't see how we can "keep" it or even get rid of it for that matter.

There was a praying mantis in here yesterday. What I'm wondering is .. How are these big things getting in the house? all the windows and doors are closed and we haven't even opened them to leave the house in 2 days.

    Anyhow what excitement. LOL

On the fourth of July it was a BIRD! I'm beginning to wonder if the house is doing animal calls or something.

Syele, lizards are a common sight around here in the summer. I had one sunning itself in my bedroom window for several weeks. They were the neat chameleon ones and occasionally we see a skink ( I hope I spelled that right!). This summer our problem has been tree frogs of all things. Believe it or not, they may be tiny but they are VERY loud. Our inside dogs loves to hunt mice and lizards so these kinds of creatures drive her crazy.

There are tons of lizards around here too, I'm just not accustomed to them getting inside the house. How do I tell what kind of lizard it is? It has yellow stripes.

Try googling the lizard or try a site such as ask.com. You might have to dig a little.

Get a sticky mouse trap when you can. All I can say is better you than us. HA HA. To have it for apet you would need a fish tank, a light, some rocks and would have to buy LIVE crickets!

Well they searched and searched and it seem ole' whiptail is either a really good hider or it escaped the way it came.

The Boys were terribly disappointed they didn't see it and I handed out marshmellows for the effort.

I'm sure it won't take up much room in your bed.

No way would I be able to sleep in that bed after seeing a lizard! I am a big chicken over stuff like that. I hope you find him soon. My friend at church found a snake in her house once and never went back inside. I am not kidding. She refused to go back in and her kids had to move her. Beth

I'd be that way if it was one of those huge waterbug/roaches. those 4-5 inch things totally creep me out. In High school once I abandoned my room and would only wear clotes straight from the dryer, slept on the couch for months cause one was on my bedroom wall and I never saw it leave!

I really only freaked out because it surprized me by jumping and running so fast when I took the comforter off.

My thoughts on it's stay in the house so far include:
    1. Great, now I get to have lizard droppings and lizard urine in random places in the house. ie my bed.
    2. I hope it eats all the bugs. Used to spray for bugs NIGHTLY and yet the bug population in my house did not change.
    3. I hope it doesn't die in the house where I don't see it and start to rot/smell.

oh you'll smell it! My cousins had lizards as pets once and when they died my uncle put them in the garbage disposal.......... not sure why not the garbage........ but it stank for ever!

I hope you find that little guy, and don't pick him up by the tail when you do!

I know you don't think its funny...... I would not like it. hope you have lots of night lights! you don't want company in the bathroom when you get up in the middle of the night.

Well the Lizard saga ends today!. Sami announced a yet another lizard sighting and I went after it. Sami had left a dress on the floor and the lizard ran to hide in it. I scooped it up in the dress and took it outside. it didn't seem to want to leave. It clung to the dress and I had to get persistant to make it leave. On one hand it was nice having no bugs for 5 whole days, but on the other hand.. it's way too cold in my house for a lizard. LOL

Well that is great news, just turn the a/c off then it wouldn't be to cold for him/her what ever it was.
Now here comes the bugs again.

LOL yeah, I was too selfish, I'd rather be comfy and let the lizard get cold. Maybe it'll guard my door and eat the bugs before they enter now .
