We did 2 new things today. First off there was a nature walk with the HS group I told you guys we joined last month. It was at a park near 6 flags over GA, and TBH, I loathe driving that area. So anyway, someone posted on the group that they wanted to meet at the battlefield (which is a short drive & we love it). I, of course, said count us in. It was supposed to be 3 families, but one family had to cancel. No biggie, the other lady & her daughter were able to make it. We had a lot of fun. And it was sorta nice to be "broken in" gently- read: we weren't as formal as they are supposed to be. I've only met a couple of the other families in the group, so this was a new lady & DD. The boys & I really enjoyed it. Anyhoo, the other thing, the group that went to the original location, said they were going to plant a letterbox. I've heard of it, but really had no clue what it is. SO I did some research this morning before we left, and found THREE at the park we were already headed to. We looked for and found 2 of them, decided we'd wait til next trip to look for the 3rd. Now we've decided we're going to start our own letterbox. It was such a rush!!!
Sounds like a great time! what is a letterbox? never mind.. I googled it.. looks really cool, I bet ds would love it!
Isn't it neat looking? It's like a treasure hunt of sorts. I think this could become an addiction! LOL
Oh wait.... I also meant to ask, was the park near Six Flags called Sweetwater Creek park? If so, and you haven't been, you really should go sometime. It's beautiful, not very crowded, and even the easy trail is a pretty good workout. We've only been once, for a hike and picnic with another HS family, but we can't wait to go back. Lots of fun!
Kari, it is Sweetwater. Maybe we can make that our meetup? I just really am so not a city girl & don't like driving much around here, let alone there, LOL. Anyhoo, if you're interested, LMK!
