I finally joined tonight. I've been reading for a couple days and I think this is a good place for me. I wanted a place that was busy and active, I need that. I'm a mom, 37 years old, in rural Montana, teaching a DS11 and DD 8 and holding down a part time job. We live conservatively, rurally, lots of horses, cows, chickens, and of course 4H and Scouts... My kids went to public school until last year, so this is my second full year of homeschooling. DD was falling behind, DS is a live wire and they were starting to make ADD noises at me when I knew that wasn't the issue. So I started teaching them myself and the difference is astounding. we stumbled into homeschooling but I'm amazed always at the difference it's made to our family, the kids, our livestyle.. just amazing. We live in a small house, far from town, lots of animals and very rural. I love how the kids are doing on homeschooling and it's totally right for us. I'm looking forward to talking to and meeting people that are also HS'ing.... I like this site a lot... enjoying what I read and I'm looking forward to learning more and meeting people that I can relate to! thank you for having this site!
Welcome, Glad you joined. We are in NC and have seven kids. Our youngest two are in their third year of being homeschooled. They are both girls, 15 and 10 years old. The others are out of school now. I love having the girls home. We live in the small town where I grew up. My husband is semi retired so he is home most of the time and helps out with the girls a lot. Again, welcome. Beth
Welcome! Glad you found us. We're quite a diverse mix...some from very rural areas like yourself and some from the "big city". We live where the Army send us which is currently coastal Virginia Welcome again!! Rhonda
Welcome!! I hope you enjoy it here as I do. There's so many great people on this board. My only problem is not enough time in a day to keep up with it all!!
Thank you everyone! I need more hours in the day too, there's so much here that I want to read and catch up on in addition to making some new online friends! thanks for the welcomes!
Welcome! I homeschool our two girls in NC. We *love* 4H. Our group is more service project oriented than animals. My oldest daughter wants to be a vet, so she wishes we could go the animal route with it.
