First of all, I feel like I need to re-introduce myself. For those that don't have time to read all of this long "speech" LOL. Here is the link to the free 09/10 dated homeschool planner. Choice of 3 covers, one day per page, step by step instructions and monthly calendars. My pleasure and huge hug from me and enjoy!!! http://www.dynamic2moms.webs.com/ I want to say a HUGE HUG AND another HUGE HUG goes out to Deena and Jackie for I have missed ya'll..I am not sure if I know anybody else on this list that was here when it was formed and when there was just a handful of us---I am going to keep looking. I am Tina, from Texas and have 3 sons and it has been a long while since I have been here. Not because I didn't want to, but I felt I was needed elsewhere. I do hope now to be here a little more often during the highschool years. Where oh Where girls has the time gone? This is what I have been doing---Along with Sheila and another homeschool mom we founded a support group for new homeschoolers here in Texas. We had 3 locations last year, a fourth one this year and possibly a 5th more before our workshops start next month. I wrote (along with the other mom's edit, support and of course help) two books for our workshops and it contains visuals like lesson plans, scheduling, etc --all to hold them by the hand . Of course we had to have one writer so that the thought process was one long, hopefully, one flowing coherent piece. So I have spent the last two years finalizing those books for our group. But the books were the culmination of all three founders and their help, input, talents, giving and time as well. So our workshops are year after year from Aug to April and the new homeschoolers have kept me JUMPING. Then my mother has suffered some terrible health problems which we now know we can treat and she is doing good. My husband suffered some too --his back and 5 herniated disc..so we moved to get closer to his work. He is good now and it is just part of living in this ole world. Me, fat and fiddle as ever..LOL The boys well--Tre is taller than me..did I mention good looking? I am biased too... His voice, facial hair and body all say "I am older than 14"...and the other two Trever and Tristen are my wonderful clowns. Phew......what else? I decided to share for free a lot of the units and things we have been working on over the past years. So I created the free site this year to start uploading lapbooks I created for my kids, and just to have a place to put it all. I have units on Westward Expansion, Native Americans, Civil War, Frogs and Toads, Ancient Civilization, Bible.....mmmm, not sure of all what else..I need to look again..LOL. I still am editing and uploading, chugging along on the site... Btw, did I mention I homeschool too? ROFL ROFL:lol: So glad to be here AGAIN!!! Let me go read what is been going on for the past 5 years..lol Here is the link again to my site if you want some freebies http://www.dynamic2moms.webs.com/
Tina! Are those big guys in your avatar your boys?? I bet you don't remember me- I'm Jeannie's mom, 8 1/2 yr old now, Jeannie's mom. We're starting year 5 in August, and this is the first year I didn't even consider ps, I just realized. Guess I've been assimilated!
Glad you like it. This is just the culmination of our years of homeschooling....so why not share some of it,kwim? So it is plugging along, trying to NOT work hard any year..LOL:lol: So glad to be here too!
Becky, Becky, Becky... I do REMEMBER you and your precious LITTLE PRESCHOOLER....uhm not so little anymore uh? It is SOO good to hear that you stuck it out....I remember you had such a hard time, SOO many questions..LOL:lol: I think starting hsing for anybody with little ones and wondering "will they be behind? What do I teach them? Will they learn to read? Do I test them? Will they be ready for highschool?" can overwhelm even the best homeschooling mom. It is just part of the journey... YES YES....it is HUGE when you finally start feeling homeschooling freedom! You no longer give a flying cow's rear end :lol:ROFL ROFL when ps starts and ends, what tests they do, or how your child compares to somebody's elses.. So glad it's a lifestyle now and not something you do from 9 to 2. Yes, yes those are my big guys in the picture. Tre was about 8 when we moved here from ABC Teach's forum they got rid of. Now he is highschool this year . Hugs
Ange and Marcia, You are so welcome for the site....I will be uploading the rest of my units, many more to come.:lol:.LOL(mmm, you don't realize what you have done after your years of hsing)...It just takes me a while to edit them so that they are in blank form for others to use. In the meantime enjoy and I look forwarding to knowing ya'll better as well.
TINA!!! Welcome back!!! Every time I find a book my son actually WANTS to read, I think of you and your boys. Phillip is now 9.5, and while he reads well he simply doesn't WANT to much, because there are so many OTHER things he'd rather do, like building catapults, etc.! So every now and then, the librarian pulls one out of her hat, and he actually ENJOYS reading, lol! Yes, I hear you about Tre! Rachael is 15 now, telling me every other day that she can get her temps in December.... (I keep telling her that she might be old enough to get them, but that doesn't mean a THING to her me and her dad....). Also, this past June when we for her check-up, I made them measure how tall *I* was, along with Rachael. AND GUESS WHAT!!! I'M TALLER!!! (OK, only 1/4 inch taller, but it's offical and I have bragging rights for another year, lol!!!) Anyway, it's good to hear from you again! Tell Sheila I said HEY, too! (Very good looking guys, btw! Rachael's promised to Deena's oldest, but Faythe is still available, lol!!!)
Your site is really good, I know I'll be using it as well as sharing it with others so they can discover your great stuff.
Mmmm, we'll take her.....lol. She is your sweetie, the free spirited one--- I remember. Wouldn't it be nice if we could JUST matchmake? Well ---at least we'll get to be in on the courting, but hey is 45 too young to get married?
Rhi, Patty and Shelby. Thank you for letting me know you like the site. It's work in progress, but now i have place to upload all my units. I usually try to release one every month...well so far until I exhaust what I have done....but mmm, it will be a while before i'm done uploading freebies. I got thinking later when I am in the middle of editing and uploading all of this stuff that I should have done this a long time ago and I wouldn't have so much to upload.. Oh well, live and learn..I think it has been more fun doing it now Thanks for your comments again.
Hay girl welcome back, I was just thinking of you and Shelia the other day, how are you both doing? I remember you and all your wonderful website. You might not remember me I changed my name from KrisTX to KrisRV. any way it was great to hear from you. How are things going with you all? How do you like your new house? Hope you come around more, sure do miss you around here. both of girls are growing up so fast.16 and 14 where does the time go?
Hey TINA!!! Great to see you! WELCOME "HOME"!!! Yep, still a few of the oldies here, not many though. Wow, your guys look sooo big now! My oldest just graduated from highschool, turned 18, and is heading to college in 2 months!!! Can you believe it? My next guy is 15, will be 16 in September, and will be a 10th grader. My "baby" girl is 12 now and going into 7th grade! I can't believe they're all that old, and I agree----where does the time go?! I mean, both my boys are shaving now........what's with that?!!! So, are your REALLY going to stick around here? That'd be cool! Now a new "generation" of Homeschool Spot people can reap from your wisdom!
Hi Kris, Oh yes I remember. I do plan on coming around more..It might have to be once a day or every other day...but I am going to do my best to stay here. We love our new place and even though I miss being in the "sticks", being closer to town has it's advantages... SHOPPPING!! LOL:lol: WOW...everybody is growing up..I do feel old.. 5 years later and we have teenagers..LOL
