I had one from Barnes and Noble one year. The lady gave me a hard time about everything! "You're NOT a teacher! was one of them, but she took it back after I asked her to point out the policy declaring homeschool moms exempt.

I went to use it after she gave it to me and she tried to tell me that some of the books weren't for school! I said, excuse me? Please point out to me where you have a list of my homeschool curriculum?

    She gave me the discount.

I never got one again though, because she was so obnoxious.

I've signed up for the Staples Teacher Rewards card. I also went to www.officemax.com and signed up for the max perks reward card. I haven't had a problem using them and if you go when they have their teacher appreciation days you show them your card in the check out line and they give you some free supplies. (At least that's what happened to me... they don't even ask if you HS)

For both of these places you can sign up online and print out a card immediately.

Bummer though - closest Office Max is 45 minutes away
