They might get to learn some parenting skills: diaper changing, feeding, rocking a baby, and lots of patience. LOL It will work out.
That's right, Crystal!!! Train up those boys in child rearing!!! Got a friend with seven boys, ages 23-5. The oldest ones change diapers without any hesitation, will cook meals, etc. We always told Cheryl that if her children don't rise up to call her blessed, her future daughters-in-law sure will, LOL! Kris, you could always ask Crystal or Heidi to send you a bottle of the Pennsylvanian water. I hear it does the trick! Or maybe we could send it to Becky and tell her it's just "plain" bottled water. Won't SHE be surprised......
Thanks for the stuff, Brenda. It's funny you mentioned twins- they at first thought she was twins because they heard a heart beat in two places. I'd have.... well, nevermind. Here's one to laugh at- sometime after Jeannie came Dean and I were going back and forth because I said I needed help around the house. He said he wished he could stay home and play with a baby all day. Silly Wabbit. Oh, that it were like that!! I wonder how long the men would last staying home with the kids while we all went out to work??
Do you remember the old folk story about the man who complained about how easy his wife had it? She went to work in the field all day, and he stayed home, thinking he would have it easy. Don't remember all of it, but I do remember him putting the cow on the thatched roof to graze, then tying a rope around it, which he threw down the chimney and tied around his waste. The cow fell off the roof, and when the wife came home after a hard but do-able day, she found it dangling over the side of the house, her husband caught in the chimney, the baby wet, hungry and crying, nothing for dinner, and breakfast dishes still lying around.
I consider myself blessed... Tracy gave up his job to be at home with the boys when I went to school to complete my nursing... and he's been home pretty much since his accident and does a lot of stuff around here. He took parental leave when I went back to work after Noah was born... What a doll
Aaaahhh, I didn't even see this thread until now, and didn't know there was a picture of Avarie here! What a doll! I'm like Jackie, it ALMOST makes me want to drink the water, but I'm also like Kris??, I forget for sure, who said they were too old! I'll keep enjoying my kids 'til they have my grandkids and I can enjoy them then. But that will be a good looooong time cuz my oldest is only 14! Hey Crystal, how is everything going now?
Crystal, you sent me the one picture of her, and even Carl says what a beautiful baby she is!!! This from a guy that thinks ALL babies look exactly the same. (Of course, NONE were as beautiful as mine; if you don't believe me, just ask my mom or MIL, and they'll tell you  !!!)
Thank you Jackie. Everything is going good Deena, just busy. I feel like all I do is nurse the baby and school the kids, my housework is really, really suffering. I do have lots of helpers with the baby, they even fight over who gets to change diapers! LOL We have switched to paper plates and paper cups to help with the dishes. I feel very blessed and thank God everyday for my children and the gift of my dh's vas reversal working and God giving us Avarie. So I try to not complain about the house not getting done. I would much rather have an untidy house then no children.
Can we make that picture of the kids larger so I can see it? I don't know if we are able but I couldn't figure it out. Can anyone tell me? Lorna
If that is the boys in the back corners they sure are getting big. Wow! They grow so very fast. Don't they?
Congratulations, Crystal! I just saw this thread with Avarie's picture! What a sweetheart! Blessings,
