Hi, Ladies! I wanted to check in and update you on Crystal....... Her hubby called me Sunday evening and told me that they had to take the baby by c-section on Saturday (26 weeks). It's a boy~ Ezra Thomas~ 2 lb. 1 oz, 14 1/2" long. Crystal didn't ask me to post here~ but I know she's appreciate any and all prayers. I just talked to Rod (again) a few minutes ago~ Crystal will be able to come home on Thursday evening. Ezra, however, will be in the hospital until at least 35 weeks. They are saying that he is healthy for his age and size. Please pray for his continued health and strength, and for Crystal's as well. THANKS! Sorry I've been gone for so long. Like Crystal said, life has been very busy this past year~ a good friend and I started an msn message board for Christian Homeschool Moms and it has taken off beyond our wildest dreams. God has richly blessed us in that area~ so I have been devoting a good bit of my online time to that. I've also been doing alot of reviews~ some for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine and alot of freelance work~ so that takes my spare time as well. I saw that Crystal also told you about the newest member of our family~ Ian. I travelled to Vietnam right after Thanksgiving to get him (my mom went along) and we got home on December 15th. I'm getting quite an education in parenting a BOY this time around! He's a sweet, pleasant little guy~ and we're all really enjoying him! (I tried posting a picture~ but it's too big and won't let me shrink it!) If you'd like to see him, check out my blog at www.homeschoolblogger.com/ReviewsbyHeidi Hope everyone is well! I miss you guys!
Heidi, Wow! It is nice hearing from you again. Sounds like you are busy. Glad to hear you and your little guy are adjusting well. Let Crystal know we will keep her and the new little one in our prayers and thoughts. Along with the rest of the family.
Heidi, thanks for the update on Crystal. I will be praying for baby, Ezra, Crystal and the rest of the family. So glad the baby is healthy.
Heidi, thanks for letting us know! Tell Crystal we'll all be praying for her and little Ezra. And congratulations to you on your adoption!
How strange that I missed this! Crystal and Ezra will certainly be on my prayer list! Thanks for the update, Heidi! Your little guy is adorable! Congratulations on him!
All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth... Look at the two front teeth!!! Oh my word (I miss those days). He looks so happy and so healthy Heidi - CONGRATULATIONS Love and prayers to Crystal and best wishes for you and your ever growing family too.
I know what she is going through. I feel for her and her family, Samantha was 2lb 1 oz. too. The NICU is where we were every day. ( I spent the day there and Mac came there after work.) I suppose she won't be able to do that too much with all the other kids. Congratulations to you too Heidi, your blog is very nice.
Thanks Heidi for posting this. I really appreciate prayers for our little Ezra right now. He came way too early, I was only 26 weeks pregnant. We have a long, scary road ahead of us.
Crystal, I know it's scary. My best friend had her baby at 25 weeks. He was 1 lb 2 oz. Now he's 9 and in 3rd grade! Everything will be ok, keep praying and telling him how special he is. He's a miracle and he's all yours! You're so blessed.
Crystal, Are you journaling, or writing down your thoughts and what's happening? It's so precious to go back and see pictures and read thoughts from times like this! Little Ezra will be big someday, and you can show him the precious moments when he was so tiney and fragile---but yet, God was holding him in His hands and protecting him for you! You, Ezra and your family are being covered in prayer. May God give health and strength to Ezra, and courage, patience, and whatever else you need to you!
Crystal, if it's any help to you, one of the ladies in our church delievered her first child when she was 29 weeks pregnant - the baby was the size of a 25 week fetus (something to do with the way the umbilical cord being joined to her knee and inadequate blood supply/nutrition). Anyway, Elisha was born PERFECTLY healthy, breathing on her and doing well. She was in the hospital for several months (until she was old enough and big enough to come home) and is now a bundle of joy and laughs. That was three years ago. Keep a journal like Deena suggested - it helps you to process each day as they come and is a blessing to look back on. Keep your head up and know that we're praying for you.
Thanks so much for the prayers. Our NICU gave us a journal and I've been writing in it faithfully. I think I will start another scrapbook type journal at home too. Thanks for the ideas and please keep the prayers coming! You can see pictures of Ezra on our family blog at www.homeschoolblogger.com/crysnrod
Wow Crystal, amazing pictures! I'm glad you shared them! What a fighter Ezra is, huh? He is God's little man, and ohhhh so precious!
He is beautiful! A few years from now, no one will ever know that he had such a difficult beginnning!
He is beautiful and looks like he is fighter. Give me lots of little hugs and kisses. If you ever need a sitter let me know.
Oh my word Crystal! What a doll (and look at all the hair on his head for a fetus born so early) - WOW! WOW! WOW!
