We went for a guided bush walk today - 5hrs worth! We booked in with national parks & wildlife, who provide the guide. We walked through about 5kms of national park, off the track, over a mountain! Beautiful views at the top, beautiful wildflowers everywhere....
But I just had to share this.....my kids we (of course) the only kids in a group of 5 Adults. Kids don't normally do this, as it is scheduled in school time. Everyone asked - no school today? I told them this is school! We are homeschoolers.
The kids kept up (out ran us actually), never complained that they were too tired, engaged each adult in conversation, tried to help.
At the end, the guide said she hoped we would come again. And one of the other participants siad to me "It was nice to meet you. Great kids"
Words to warm any mummies heart:love:

You must be very proud of your children. You are doing a great job with them.

Karen that sounds like so much fun. We were just talking yesterday of planning a camping and hiking trip for October at one of our National Forests. Now I can't wait.

We spent a day at O'Reileys a couple of years ago - did the tree top walk and another one through rainforest to a look out at a waterfall - can't remember it's name. I agree - very wonderful.
Yesterday we walked through a section of Brisbane water national park, near Umina.

I do have pics - lots, lol. Will post some soon...have to get organised ehough to put them on the computer, resize them etc...

Sounds great! I wish we could do more stuff like that but transport becomes such an issue.
