I've seen those banks for kids that have sections for savings, spending and tithes. I can't find them now! Does anyone have a link or a name for me?
OMG-that is so cool. I've never seen anything like it!!! Hmmm wish it wasn't so,uh, cartoony. Is it all sectioned off?! Haha-I think I need one too.....
So I started looking around-here's one you can make yourself (cuz I like as close to $0 as possible.) http://www.christiancrafters.com/craft_tithingbank.html and another... http://deseretbook.com/store/product/5007477 or a less christian, but still fun and cute http://www.msgen.com/assembled/moolah.html and this one has a cool jar, and soem other do it yourself stuff... http://www.moonjar.com/store/#2 hmmm-hope that helps! (now I must shop more) I'm still amazed-this is just the best idea......
We spent the money years ago on a couple different styles. We have the ABC bank from Crown Financial as well as the ATM one. I was a bad mom and never followed through for the long term with using the banks, although we do practice the principles. I'd have to say that we actually preferred the non-ATM one because the child can actually see the money accumulating in each section.
Here is a link to the one we use. It is an ATM style but divides the money up into giving, spending and saving. It has preset percentages but you can change them. I got ours from a local Christian bookstore.
The one we have is sectioned into three compartments with three different bank slots. The stickers actually had to be put on, so you could leave them off except for the label ones (store, bank, church). You could also leave the stickers off and let the kids paint them (with the right paint, it would work well). Then it's like they designed their own.
Thanks for the links! I've found several cute ones! I just need to talk to hubby and decide exactly how we want to do this now!
