Has anyone used this? It's published by Eagle's wings and I LOVE their science. So I'm wondering about this one.

I am thinking that I would like to get the complete and use it for the twins (a little too young still), a 4yo, a 6yo who is reading, and an 8yo to help hone her writing skills.

    Anyone have any thoughts? ;-)

Hi, I have Alphabet Phonics. I chose it as I like having little songs and stories to go along with the phonic rulles. It starts off with lessons on all the letters. Once that is complete it moves to blending 3 letter words using word families. "At" cat, mat, fat etc. This works for a lot of kids but my daughter can't seem to get the idea so I am swaping over to fun tale readers and some others (the name escapes me now, they are on order, I havn't got them yet) which instead of word families goes the other way and is known as blend phonics ba,be,bi,bo,bu etc. I plan on going back to AI Phonics later. I havn't really looked much further along in the sheets that I have.

I have found it somewhat confusing to find the sheets and lessen that I needed. Once I sat down quietly and really read through I found them. I have been disapointed in the quality. It's all very old fasioned looking. I was hoping for something brighter and more modern looking.
The plastic card holder which goes in the 3 ring binder ripped on day one. Also while the blerb says "readers" these are just yellow pages with black line drawings which you have to cut out of the book, fold and staple. They start straight out with 3 sentences per page. Way to much for my dd which is why I am getting Fun Tales (sold by Sonlight, but cheaper on Amazon) these start off with one word per page. If I had been able to see the way it was I think for the early stages I would have gone for something else with bright modern flash cards, maybe zoo phonics or scardy cat. I still think it's a good programe though.

Both of my cousins used it with several of their kids (they have 14 between them) and loved it, tried to get me to use it, just was expensive for me at the time. they also have a song for the states, I would reccamend that too.

Thanks ladies for the input! (And of course I'd love to hear more.)

The whole complete package (which is supposed to be penmanship, creative writing, reading, etc. for 1st -9th grade) is $115 but I don't think that's bad if I can use it with 5 kids.

I wish they (or a vendor) was going to be at a conference near me so that I could get a good look at it. But I think I will likely go with it. It seems to be the cheapest and least complicated option to meet all 5 needs without loosing my sanity--well that is if I haven't lost it already!!
