Monday we should be at approximately the half way point of deployment! To say this has been busy would be a total understatement. There are NEVER enough hours in the day!! I am coming to ask if you could please pray for Jay. He has started having asthma attacks (he used to just have exercise induced ones, but this not) and he thinks he is getting sick again. He has already had bronchitis once since he has been there. I just wish he could be home where I could take care of him, even if he isn't always the best patient!
Oh Jen, that has to be so hard, We sure will keep him in our prayers. How are you and your little man doing?
Thank you guys so much. I talked to him a little bit ago and he seemed to be feeling better. He thinks it might be....are you ready for this one?...all the dust! So he has taken some stuff and he says it seems to be working. I just hate being so far away because of course my mind starts thinking he's under some kind of new undetectable chemical attack or something. Jack and I are doing pretty well. Single parenting is just insanely busy. My hat is off to all those parents who have to do it long term. It is so hard. I am trying to check in here at least every couple of days and keep up with all that is going on. It gets difficult sometimes with trying to get everything else done and stuff sent to Jay and all. But at least we are almost on the downhill slide!!
Sorry you are going through this. Is he in Iraq? Please thank him for his service and sacrifices for me and thank you for the sacrifices you and your family make to make us all free here in the US. Dust is an enemy for someone with asthma. Does he take a daily rx for his asthma like an inhaled steroid or something like Singulair?
Sending prayers. My hubby said there were all sorts of issues with asthma and other illnesses from the dust in Iraq when he was there. It's an awful feeling when someone we love is sick and halfway around the world. Congrats for making it to the halfway mark! I know what a huge milestone that is!
He is in Kuwait. Really he is in a safe spot, considering this is a wartime deployment. You know how the mind can wander, though... He has never taken anything for asthma other than occasionally using an inhaler, and he has only had to use that from time to time after heavy exercise. Of course, he's never lived in a sand box before, either. I mean, I am bad about dusting, but not THAT bad. Thank you guys for your prayers. We have been so blessed with many things about this assignment, but it is so nice to know he is being prayed for.
I will continue to pray for him there.....for the medicine to work so he doesn't have the asthma attacks, and for things to go smoothly! I will also pray for you and Jack. That you two will do well and make it through this time of dh's employment with flying colors! It'll be good to be over that hump and on the downward side toward your dh's return! It's good you're keeping busy so the time seems to go faster! You're in our thoughts and prayers!
Thanks, Deena! Apparently, I spoke too soon. He has been sick all weekend. Hopefully we will get over this soon!
