Chronological History

Has anyone used the books by "Nothing New Press"?

I just found this, via a link at Classical Christian Homeschooling. Wow, this Ancient History book looks EXACTLY like what I've been trying to put together all by my lonesome self. And I was excited to look finally at Mystery of History! (I'll probably still supplement some, as these books don't cover India, China, or anything else not mentioned in the bible. but still, it does exactly the hardest part of what I was trying to do! And that's fit the EXACT stories in proper chronological time periods. MOH is a good outline, but actual stories and bible reading were giving me a headache trying to figure out what goes where!)

Anyway, has anyone used these?
The Story of the Ancient World
There are more time periods, obviously. We're just starting, so of course Ancient is where we are right now.

If, by oddball chance, anyone HAS this and might want to sell, PM me!

We do history chronologically with Mystery of History. Some others here use Story of the World. I like being able to teach all my kids at once!!!

I'm with Jackie - like teaching everyone together and I like teaching chronologically.

I've seen and heard of both of those. I just found this one for the first time last night, and it looks perfect. Just wondered if anyone else had used it. Thanks ladies!

DaLynn, somewhere on here I posted a list of Living Books to go with Ancient History. You might want to check it out.

Thanks! I'll stalk you then, and see if I happened to mark it the first time you posted it. LOL I know I have one list, but who knows if it's the same. Thanks!

Just wanted to post a follow-up on this. After reading some of the 'example' lessons from this book on the site, I am most definately NOT going to be purchasing it.

It speaks of how Cain left after murdering Abel, and took nothing but his wife (who was of course his sister).

I immediately broke out my Bible. In my reading, it seems that Cain did not even obtain a wife until after he'd arrived in the land of Nod. (That phrase makes me giggle, every single time.) And it certainly says nothing about his wife being his sister.
It goes on from there to make up quite a few things, which I read in three different translations and came away with completely different conclusions. I absolutely will NOT be using this to teach my children!

I will, though, be utilizing the fact that they've made their table of contents viewable online. That is what enticed me in the first place - the detail of the TOC. I'll take this back to my redone outline of the MOH books, and insert these details under the appropriate MOH headings. And one of these days, maybe I'll have the extra $40 to buy MOH.

Just thought I'd share, in case anyone else had glanced at the site and thought it looked good, like I did the other day.

I think people assume it was his sister, because, well, there wasn't anyone else around to marry! At any rate, it would be a relative....

I haven't looked at the book on the site, I was just commenting about this one thing.

Gad you found this out before you purchased the book!

I think thats why I ruled it out too, it seems kind of like some things were guessed at rather than researched.
Thanks for the update thougH!
