We don't have a schedule really. They just know that they have school every day and that it's all in their notebooks and mom WILL check EVERY SINGLE DAY to make sure it's done.. DD12 learned the hard way.. She had her "back porch painted red" if ya know what I mean along with LOTS of make up work for trying to hide her work from me thinking I wouldn't notice it was missing.. Rule is NOTHING comes out of the notebook unless I take it out.. We have a notebookbook with dividers that I fix up every week with the weeks lessons.. I can't "plan" farther than a week ahead at a time. It just works better that way.. AND if we need to redo something we don't have to adjust everything to get it done.. Next week we are starting a new science book with Dd9.. Apologia anatomy!!!! We are ALL excited! I'm PLANNING on using Fridays as our project/experiment day and both girls will do their stuff together. maybe both will get something from the other's science curriculum.. And besides it's FUN and breaks the monotony!! We are planning a visit to the local museum next week to learn a little about history of our town during their black history month exhibit.. the girls LOVE museums..
I just really think that taking the planning and making it into small sessions of a week long works REALLY well for us.. I do start dreading it about this time of the week because I know it's coming up again, but I'll eventually figure out a system to make it go more smoothly..
I'm just really pleased with myself for sticking with it.. I feel so accomplished... I'm SO greatful for all of the posts that helped me get the ball rolling.. You guys are AWESOME!!!
