BJU Press Spelling, anyone?

My critters use this curriculum and so does my friend... then we found spellingcity.com and use it with our kids to introduce games to their specific spelling words... it is free...

Anyway, I have a the lists finished for chapter 9 - 36 if anyone wants it... PM me for the teacher name for the search....

I used BJUP spelling one year, and found it really lacked enough practice. I did like how they started with base words and added suffixes to change them, but to me, there just wasn't enough practice with the words.

Right. We find that too. So, we have to find ways to supplement.

One thing we have done, besides finding games to supplement, is to make our own flashcards, or do writing assignments. Essentially, doing our own practice work.

But I definitely agree with you on that.

Zaner Bloser Spelling Connections, what we use now, has two pages for each day, plus extra pages of content related pages using that week's spelling pattern. Jeannie's book was 14.00 and some change, and you do not need the TE. I'm big on using the TEs, but you seriously do not even need this TE. Check out their website to look at Spelling Connections.

Thanks for the cool site. NICE.

Spelling is an area of concern for us. We are really behind and doing it via computer will take some of the negativity away from the drilling
