ABall, Pumkin Pie Recipe?........Anyone?

Do you ( or anyone else ) know of a Pumpkin Pie Recipe that the end result won't remind me of "baby food" in a pie shell? I have tried many recipes, but regardless, they always have the same "baby food" texture. Can't stand that (the texture). Any ideas? Anyone?

IMO, the best pumpkin pie recipe is the one on the Libby's can (not the pumpkin pie mix, the canned pumpkin). I'm not sure how you'd get a pie that's not 'babyfood-ish' though, as that's sort of the point of pumpkin pie. I certainly wouldn't want want chunky, but I guess you could make it that way if that was your preference.

Yep we use the Libby pumpkin pie recipe too........... actually each of my kids make one recipe for thanksgiving and my sammie is in charge of the pumpkin pie------ SSSHHHHH she doesn't know you all make the same recipe........ its "her specialty".---- yet I just recently started eating pumpkin pie and it has to be slathered in whip cream.

BUT!!!! have you seen the recipe lately for "turtle pumpkin pie"?? let me see if I can find that recipe somewhere ITs been in all the magazines and it has pecans and caramel...

Turtle Pumpkin Pie

Turtle Pumpkin Pie (by Kraft)
Prep Time:
15 min
Total Time:
1 hr 15 min
Makes:
10 servings

What You Need!



1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. caramel ice cream topping, divided


1 HONEY MAID Graham Pie Crust (6 oz.)


1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp. chopped PLANTERS Pecans, divided


2 pkg. (3.4 oz. each) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding


1 cup cold milk


1 cup canned pumpkin


1 tsp. ground cinnamon


1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg


1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided




Make It!




POUR 1/4 cup caramel topping into crust; sprinkle with 1/2 cup nuts.
BEAT dry pudding mixes, milk, pumpkin and spices with whisk until well blended. Stir in 1-1/2 cups COOL WHIP; spoon into crust.
REFRIGERATE 1 hour. Top with remaining COOL WHIP, caramel topping and nuts just before serving.
