Hello. My name is Anne-Marie and I am a homeschooling mom in Florida with 4 children ages 6 and under. We started our homeschooling journey last April and my preconceived ideas about homeschooling have been turned on their ear...for the better I think. We are more or less unschooling. We started our Kindergarten year with BJUP, but I don't think I will be purchasing a full package like that again. It's just not our thing...as I am discovering.
Welcome!! We are just ending our third yr of hsing. I have seven children ages 5 to 13. I dont use one specific curriculum, we use different things for each subject. Your kids are all really young so I think its a good not to get to overwhelmed with curriculum, which it doesnt sound like you are since you are mostly unschooling. For my younger kidos we use sing, spell, read, and write. I really like that. Like you already said, you'll learn a lot while you go. I am like night and day compared to now and when I first started. Good luck and welcome!!
Another Welcome  Homeschooling the first year is always a big learning experience for the teacher/mom. With a little experience under our belts, many find the courage to branch out and change directions with curriculum choice. This is especially true with the younger students. Blessings to you. Tammy~
Hi! I, too, unschooled our first year. And even now we are pretty relaxed. We use a relaxing Math program and my youngest is doing phonics with Explode the Code. I purchased Mystery of History and Considering God's Creation (science), but my family just wasn't ready for all that structure daily, so we'll hold off for a bit on those. We love exploring family and idividual interests...and that seems to cover all other subjects! Unschooling is great! I know there are families that don't use any curriculum at all, but we have always seemed to need math and reading to follow a process set up for us. We still go at our own paces rather than stress over it. Welcome again! Hope you like it here as much as we do.
Welcome! I hs my ds, age 7. This is our second year of hs (that is, if you don't count all he learned from birth to K5! ). You'll find lots of helpful info. at this site. Blessings,
