Hey, y'all! I know it's been ages, but thought I'd check in and tell any "old-timers" still around how it's been going with me!!! First off, Rachael graduated in Electrical Engineering in December, and is currently a Research Assistant, working on her Masters. She didn't go through graduation, however, because she was busy getting married to a wonderful guy she had been friends with for years. And she told me, "Don't get any ideas, Mom!!! TWO YEARS!!! No babies for TWO YEARS!!!" But you know how it is when you got everything planned out JUST RIGHT, and God decides to stick His finger right in the middle, to remind you that HE has the final say....? Yeah. My grandson, affectionately referred to as Bump by me, is due the end of November! (Which may mean she will finish her schooling in May instead of December). Faythe is attending a community college, hoping to transfer to Bowling Green (where her mother graduated!) next fall and study Marine Biology. Phillip is 16, and has two years to go. He doesn't like school AT ALL, and would much rather be on the computer playing games with his friends. sigh.... He's also very musical, so that's good. Has no idea what he wants to do when (if) he graduates. But he's a good kid; I can't complain! I teach two classes at the co-op. This fall, it will be the preschool class, plus a K-2 class I call the Magic Carpet. We travel around the world on a magic carpet, hearing folk tales from around the world, working on mapping skills, some art activities, and whatever. It's fun! Plus I have applied to teach three mornings a week at a Christian preschool. I've had two interviews, and REALLY hope I get the job!!! That pretty much sums us up! I've been at this homeschooling for...16 years, I think...? Two more before I graduate Phillip and I'll be done. And honestly, I'm looking forward to moving into a "new" chapter of my life! Don't think I'll miss it at all! So if anyone out there remembers me, give me a shout!
Ha-ha! It is funny how plans can change so quickly, but congrats... On the upcoming child to spoil and the graduation that will give you plenty of time for spoiling!
I remember you when I first started homeschooling. Oh the questions I could ask you now... You know best laid plans... LOL!!! Congrats on "the bump."
Hi Jackie - I've not been around here much lately, but of course I remember you. Sounds great - thanks for the update!
I remember you too! Congrats on the new additions to your family. Grands are the best. Mine will be 1 in October. sweet sweet baby. Love him sooooo much!
Hi, Jackie! I haven't been around much lately, either. Was in hospital 24 days, and sick at home before that, and I'm just now getting caught up. Still schooling my grandsons although we're on break right now... See you on FB!
