    Hi everyone!!

So did anyone else get a letter from Staples yet about changes to their limits on the extreme back to school deals?

They are now making us pay full price for anything over the advertised limit, then we get 100% back on up to 25 of that item in Rewards.

Heck, I don't even know how rewards work, I have never amassed $10 worth in a quarter because most of what I buy there is paper by the case once every year, their extreme deals and sometimes computer stuff (we bought both our laptop and desktop there.. almost $2,000 and no rewards on it since it's computers grrrr).

Anyway, I am not about to pay full price for stuff just to get rewards back.. that could make some very expensive shopping trips... so I'm wondering, If I go to one Staples on say Sunday and get the limit, can I go to another Staples on Monday and get my limit? Actually I guess I could since you don't need a card. I could also have hubby and Garrett shop too. Just really stinks that they are changing their extended limits.

Boooooooo...... Sounds like, aside from the rewards, the deal is no different than for anyone else. I guess you could go to the same store every day that week! Or send the big kids in to buy...

Yep, I will be making several trips, and dragging in everyone so everyone can shop and get the deal to stock us up for the year.

I think it's a crappy change, but I will work around it.

But how many of us really need to buy that many? This is designed for classroom teachers, and will effect them the most. A teacher could easily buy 100 of something! I'm quite alright staying within the limits in the ad, or having the kids buy their limit if I want more.

We do several trips (usually me and then dh stops too) to pick up things that I know we will go through either at home or at our co-op through out the year. Glue sticks and 1" binders (the poly kind) and folders are normally what we stock up on.

We can go through TONS of glue sticks, pencils and paper. Of the 25 I got of the gluesticks and packs of pencils last year I am down to 1 pack of glue and 2 packs of pencils (one of which is open). We are close to out of notebooks, but still have 15 packs of loose leaf paper. My kids are big into art.

I have also gone through 6 packs of markers, 12 boxes of crayons, and 6 packs of colored pencils... and this is just counting the replacements in their "school boxes", there have been countless boxes of crayons dumped into the crayon bucket.

ETA, the pencils actually suck and sometimes you will sharpen the whole darn pencil and the lead is continually broken as you go..grrrr. I probably will not buy cheap pencils again.

I miss Staples and they don't ship to FPOs. I have a pencil sharpener from them, their brand, and it's been working since 2008. It's been ship all over the place, and dropped so many times. It still works. It is now just starting to show it's age from the kids using it. It just needs to last a few more months.

Our church was always donated stuff for backpacks to pass out in the inner city. They got WAY more than what was needed; we'd donate the leftovers to the local elementary school to distribute as needed throughout the year. But I was always given access to the supplies before they were sent to the school to get what I felt I needed. That's one thing I'll miss!

sommer we get rewards checks all the time from Staples. I did not get an email and I was in there using my discount two days ago so far no problems.
