What foods (if any) bother you now?

Pretty much any beef, no matter how lean or how it's cooked, bother me-ground beef is the worst by far though.

    Anything fried bothers me.

Cokes bother me-I drank maybe 4 oz of Dr Pepper at my moms house a couple of days ago and thought I was going to DIE!

I wonder if other foods are causing me pain and I don't notice it (as in I don't connect the pain with the food) So, if you've had your gall bladder removed, what foods bother you?

Mine was removed in July 2007. Nothing bothers me. ... well, actually, things that are high in sugar send me running, but I'm borderline diabetic, so I don't think my g.b. is to blame.

Okay, I hope my answer isn't too off. I *do* have my gall bladder...however, in my early 20's I started having problems, and I had already had two first cousins have theirs removed (I was "next" in line, age wise). I talked with my internist about it, and he said I'd probably need it out, but for the moment, start eating as if it had already been removed. That did the trick. It's been 22 years since that doctor visit, and I still have my gall bladder, I just pretend it's not there.

So here's what I canNOT eat: anything very high in fat - like Alfredo sauce. If I go to a place like Red Lobster, I have to skip the melted butter. If I try to make myself eat these, I generally have to leave the table because I will be sick before the end of the meal.

For quite a while, I could not even eat high quality ice cream or anything deep fried. However, about 10 years ago, I noticed I could have a small portion of fried food (say, a small handful of fried okra) or a reasonably sized dish of ice cream.

Hope you don't mind me commenting, since I do have a gall bladder.

I had mine removed when I was 18 (won't say how many years ago, make me feel too old). I can eat anything, no pain. I do find that rarely (a few times a year) I will get on overflow of bile that will make me have to run to the bathroom quick. It does not last long and then I am fine.

My husband had his out about 14 years ago - he can eat absolutely anything he wants, no problem. He says the only effect he's experienced at all, other than no longer being in pain (hurray!), is green poo when he eats something especially fatty.

    ;)

I had ONE gall bladder attack and had to have it out immediately. That was back in 1981. At first after I had it out, EVERYTHING I ate sent me running to the bathroom shortly after. But through the years I got over that. Now my diabetes and the med I have to take for it does the same thing... so I eat according to the DM, and have Imodium as my new best friend... ::(:

    hamburger
    fast food
candies minus twizzlers and jelly beans
    whole milk and sometimes 2%
just about everything I make is more egg whites. i was a huge egg fan
cookies lately have gotten to me.

I pretty much have to stay low fat to make my body happy. I just wish I could eat more fresh produce but it's so expensive so it's frozen or can around here.

Anything with a high fat content. Fast food, hamburger that is not at least 90% lean, fried foods. Like others have said, the effects of being naughty and eating these foods are quite sudden in onset. Dr. explained said without the gallbladder, cant process the fats. Healthier way of eating anyway.

Mine was removed in 1999, emergency surgery.

    Good luck!

Ok, not really an answer to the question, but every time I hear about gall bladders, it makes me think of this odd story. Over a year ago, my dh's parents were down for a visit and his mom was having stomach issues (and had been for some time). So, dh being dh made his mom go to the hospital to be checked out. Come to find out, her gall bladder needs to come out. The day after she had hers out, I get a phone call that my mom had just had hers removed the day before. How is that for coincidence? Both my mom and dh's mom had their gall bladder removed the exact same day!
