My step-daughter loves to read the Bible and I want to make that part of our homeschooling experience. I had found a devotional for children a while back that had a memory verse, a story about the verse, a song and a prayer for each devotional but I can't remember where I found it or what it was called (stupid me). Do you all have any suggestions for a daily or weekly devotional for kids (she's 7) that is similar to what I found?
This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but Firefighters For Christ has a similar resource. You can check out the curriculum here. I'm also using the One Year Bible reading plan for children. Each month of the plan features a person or theme (David, The Ministries of Jesus, Moses, The Cross and Resurrection, etc.) so the material is organized in a way that is easy for children to understand. You can find the link here. If you're planning to study the Bible with a child of any age, I HIGHLY recommend The Children's Resource Ministry Bible. Whether you're teaching the Bible to your own children or to an entire class, it's a fantastic resource for a parent/teacher to have. It includes the entire NKJV text, lesson plans, cross references, charts, graphs, character studies, maps, timelines, etc. I especially like the Wordless Book that teaches children about salvation. Hope that helps!
