I just finished watching the free sample DVD they sent in the mail and I am SOLD. It looks perfect for my "I hate to write" son. I want to do the class too. lol! Have any of you tried this? How did it go? http://www.oneyearnovel.com/

looks good... do you know what leve its on Jen?
I am working with my son this year and he will be writing a Journal of our "travels" around the world. I am hoping he will enjoy it. We found that videos are available at our library that will help us to view the locations and then map work will follow that or intertwine it. I am pretty excited , but we are doing that for H/G ... this sounded like that but it is to teach writing?

Basically, the student(s) spend a 26 weeks watching lessons on DVD (the 2 lessons on the sample DVD were very enjoyable to watch!) on how to write a novel. The student then reads a lesson after each DVD lesson, possibly a portion of a book, takes quizzes once a week. The student then writes a chapter a week. By the time the year is over, each student will have written a 12 chapter adventure novel. It looks really really cool and would certainly help in other facets of learning and writing.

I believe it is for 7th grade and up.

My kids aren't old enough yet (they recommend it for 9th-12th grade). BUT, the creator of this spoke last year at our local convention. He was really neat to listen too.

I got the sample and hope that when my kids are older to use it. :)
