Long shot question here. Has anyone used any music textbooks? I was looking at something like "The Music Book". I was wondering if anyone has used these specific ones or any type of music text and what do they cover? Do they typically tell you about music or tell you what to listen to? Or do they have sheet music/songs? Thanks so much for any input. (((I'm really getting on a textbook jag the past few days, lol, here we go again! ))))
I used abekas music theory. It taught the kids how to read music and play the recorder. I did it with both my kids together and my dd thought it was boring because she could read music already from playing piano but my ds really enjoyed it. It was very simple to use.
They include Theory, Technique, Performance, Sight Reading, etc. There are also sheet music available and audio demos.
