Hello all, I've been around lurking for a while. I thought I had registered...until I tried to post last night! So, now I'm registered. I have appreciated the benefit I've gotten from reading your various experiences and opinions. We're still very, very new to homeschooling (our oldest is 5). As many fo you know, you can read all you want, but nothing replaces first hand experience. Hopefully, as well continue through our homeschooling path, we'll have as much to offer folks as we've received. Sandra - mom of three feisty boys (5, 3, and 1)
Welcome Sandra! I am also the mom of three feisty boys, and my oldest is 5. So I'm just as new at this as you are! Feel free to post away. Make yourself at home.
Welcome! I am Patty and am the mom of three feisty girls! LOL  They are 23, 21, 10. Actually, the oldest and my youngest are gentle in spirit compared to the middle daughter. She is something else, to say the least! Glad you joined us!
Welcome!! Welcome!! and I have 4 great boys/men 24,18,11,9, and 1 daughter 26. You can learn a lot from here and they will help and pray for you if you need it!! Mary in AZ
Welcome! We are also from Texas...south of SA. I have 2 boys (oldest will be 5 in June, youngest is 2). I know you will enjoy the homeschool spot. I have received such support here!
Hi - Okay, three moves ago(!) we lived in Florida. Actually, DH and I had each lived there for quite a while before we met & married, and hurricanes are a fact of life in Florida. Fast forward a few years, and it dawned on me one day that I set the tone in our home. I don't make the decisions, (DH & I do together). It's not "my show." BUT I realized if I stayed relaxed, the kids stayed relaxed. If I lose patience with the kids, DH is much more likely to do so. If I am energized to tackle a task, my boys are right there next to me, ready to go. So, my user name is an intentional reminder to myself that I (and my family!) will be happier in the long run if I endeavor to remain a calm center of all our activity.
