Does anyone have an electronic telescope or know anything about them? We are interested in getting the Telestar Telescope but I am nervous about spending that kind of money and not knowing if we are really going to like it. We are so interested in all the constellations but have a hard time finding some and thought this would be fun to have. Thanks!

I don't have one of these yet, but it's on my list. I have a telescope that is NOT electric, and even though it works well (we've seen the rings of Saturn and Jupiter's moons) we don't have a prayer when it comes to deep sky objects. So that's why I'm going to get the one in the link below as soon as I have a chance. I have a microscope, but I don't have a telescope I like yet.

I'm not recommending the store itself, just the telescope. I have heard and read some great reviews of it, and it's probably worth it.

    Thanks,
I checked it out and it looks good. I am not computer smart at all so I hope I can get the thing to work. When I do get it I will let you all know, it will be a few months from now.

I really don't think an electric telescope is necessary if you can find the constellations with a sky map. We just finished a fee online astronomy course http://www.kidsastronomy.com/academy/index.htm and I have no trouble pointing out stuff now that we are done.

If it were me I'd spend my money on a bigger conventional telescope!;)

We have often considered getting one of these, but they are very large and pretty expensive. We always worry about storage issues and traveling with it.

I hope you find the info you are looking for, Astronomy is fascinating.
