tears of joy, that is. I go to another forum called Parenting Club. I had casually mentioned on a thread over there about not being able to find a large enough snow suit for Aiden this winter because of his size, and all the ones I do find that are a little bigger are SO expensive and we can't afford them. Anyways, one of the members PM'd me and asked what size I was looking for and that she had a larger one from her son that didn't sell in a rummage sale she just had. She sent it to me FREE of charge, I just got it in the mail today and it is PERFECT, just what we needed! AND, she went and loaded a bunch of clothes for Aiden in there too. OMG you guys, I am overjoyed at her generosity and I am crying because this is such a HUGE answer to prayer for us since money is so tight for us right now since switching jobs. I just wanted to share though because I thought it was such a huge act of kindness, esp. from someone I had never met before. God truly works miracle through others and I feel so blessed to know someone was thinking of me when I least expected it. [IMG]

Now...my question...we don't have much money, but I want to send her something, at least a card. Do you think a card is ok? I want to show her how appreciative I am of her, but I can't afford a whole lot more than a card. Something homemade maybe? ???

Oh, and just on an added side note...ABall, she reminds me of you and your generosity and kind heart. :) The world needs more of you.

I think a handmade thank you card would be wonderful. If it were me who had done the sending, that would speak volumes. Very few people even bother with thank you cards anymore, let alone homemade anythings.

I think that would be great. What an answer to prayer she was!

Thanks for the nice complement Jen.

I wish I could help you more, I just think that the baby clothes at my mom's store is not the right size for either of the boys............... the boys clothes there are hard to come by.

But you know that next year when you don't need those things you'll be passing them on at your church's clothing exchange......... thats just how it works.

I'm glad that you got the snow suit.

There are good people in the world.

I would make her a book mark with your favorite scripture on it. put it in the card, and yes thats plenty.

PS: I was thinking about you the other day, I found the spiderman costume the other day..... in perfect shape, but I think it would be too small, I wouldn't mind sending it if you want to see---- it would lay so flat it wouldn't take much to send. the size is not showing on the tag, but I would say its small. THey strech a bit.

Jen, not to hijack your thread, but how big is Aiden now? I was curious because we took Saundra today and she is 27 1/2 inches long and 17 lb 5.5 oz. Her sis only weighs 25 lb at 22 mo!

If I were the one who sent the clothes I would love a card just saying how perfect if fit and how much you loved it. I think that would be very nice. Beth
Oh and congratulations of finding such a good friend to share with you like that.

Amy, you're so sweet. I think I have convinced Tanner to use his Mr. Incredible costume from last year. YAY. Actually, I think it was even his idea, so I think we're safe for Halloween. Thank you for thinking of me though. You're always thinking of me actually, and I can't thank you enough.

Jennifer, Aiden is about 18 pounds now. No clue to his length though.

I think I will send out a card, and I like that bookmark idea.

Ahhh, I love hearing how God works in such miraculous ways!!! Praise God for how He worked this out for you!!!

Just this morning, I was listening to Joyce Meyer in the background and she was saying something to the effect that we need to have faith that God will do as He says. If we ask Him for something, to have faith enough to know He will answer your prayer. So if your'e in need of something, know that God will provide. Just because you don't see it coming just yet, doesn't mean it isn't already on its way, so have faith in the One who can make it happen!

Okay, she said it much better than that, but that's how I can explain it.:p

If you don't mind, I'd like to share a little tidbit of how God did this for me just this week. Long story short, we've been hit hard the last two months and despite that, God asked us to give above and beyond when a certain situation came about. We obeyed. Well, we had been planning to go on this camping trip with some friends coming up and we didn't have a tent yet, but with all that happened, I just couldn't see purchasing a tent and going, because we really needed to recover instead. I could make a lot better use of money towards a tent. Well, we asked God to show us what to do.

Basically, on Monday I was casually chatting with a friend who said, out of the blue, they had gone camping that previous weekend and had a blast. Without saying a word, she said that if we ever wanted to borrow her tent, we could! As a matter of fact, I could!!! She brought it over that day!

To top it off. The cost of where we were going was going to be a bit expensive. Well, something fell through and our friends decided we should go elsewhere. Well, this elsewhere is much cheaper, almost pennies on a dime!!!!! And we'll have just as much fun and it's gorgeous!:D

I wasn't trying to steal your thunder:oops:, but I just wanted to mention this to prove that God means what He said about testing Him in giving and see if He won't pour out a blessing so much that we won't have room to receive it!:D

    Isn't God awesome?!

Thank you for sharing your story, because it was a huge blessing to me, as God has been showing in me in many ways lately how He really is faithful and to just believe Him when He says what He has promised to do! Your story is just another added reminder of His greatness!!!

Oh yes, and to your question to everyone, if I were that other person, I would appreciate a thank you card and would be completely satisfied with that.;) Nothing special, just a written thank you note would have suited my fancy just fine.

A handmade card would be perfect.

Perhaps you could donate clothing your children have outgrown to help someone else? http://www.freecycle.com comes to mind. You could even put a free ad in one of the local papers for the cotume .. with a note to her you did so.

That would make me happy, to see a good deed repeated :)

Maybe your kids can make a thank you card? I think that would really touch a person's heart and be a good witness for Jesus

I am very glad for you! I thank you for sharing your joy and blessing the Lord gave you. Very Cool!

How about sending an e-card? The first time I got an animated card with music in the background I just loved it! It takes time to pick out a card, just the right one. Here are a couple links.

Wonderful idea about the freecycle, BeckyB!

Jen, That is sooo neat! I think I would cry too!

It just amazes me sometimes how God works for us.....sometimes before we even ask!

This lady is being a WONDERFUL example of God! She didn't do that for you to send HER something, she did it out of the goodness of her heart! So, that being, she probably wouldn't even WANT you to spend money to get her something! So a handmade card and bookmark would probably be more special to her than anything else!

I agree with the ideas of the other ladies. It's the idea of "paying it forward". Someone does something nice (more like AWESOME! ;) ) for you when you need it. Then sometime down the line, God will send YOU the opprtunity to return that kindness by helping someone else in need! It doesn't have to be anything monetary! I think you'll know when the opportunity arises!

Another thing---She may appreciate hearing that you will pray for her now! She may be needing that, and appreciate your willingness to do so!

Thanks for sharing that Jen! With so much bad going on in the world, it's always great to hear good things like this!

That is so interesting how you brought this up. We have a meals ministry at our church. I was called just the other day about making a meal for a family. So, I said yes and I will be making the meal for them next Thursday. Like you said, I'd know the opportunity....and I did! :D:love::angel: I immediately thought of this situation and how someone helped me and how I could help someone else like that.

That is awesome :) Pay it Forward has long been a way of life for me.

When I was in 4th grade my older brother was hit by a school bus, the occipital bone at the base of his skull shattered, and he was in a coma for a long time, not expected to live. Throught the help of many prayers and masses, God reformed the bone. His brain surgeon said it is not something that happens, it should not have happened, and yet it did. He said we had a documentable medical miracle.

That day I decided God had chosen to give my brother back to us, and I would spend the rest of my life doing what good I could for people in need. Pay It Forward :D

Sometimes it is the kindness of strangers that matters most - probably because we don't expect them to care, so when they do it is like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.

I have been the victim of the kindness of strangers several times, and I am thankful for each opportunity to see that the human race is not doomed to narcissism.
