View Full Version : My first prayer request..

Well ladies.. I kind of debated posting this because I wasn't sure I wanted to share personal stuff.. but you gotta start sometime, right? Here goes..
Tomorrow early morning, I go in for a colonoscopy and GERD. I've had recurring issues with my bowels for several months now ranging from bleeding large amounts to sloughing off the lining of my intestines; to very frequent watery stool. I'm having absorbtion issues and therefore losing my hair, my skin is cracking and bleeding, and I am getting rashes that won't heal. I have a rough time eating much, and I also need my gallbladder removed (which will come later). At any rate, sometimes you smile and sometimes you just fake a smile, know what I mean?
I am asking for prayer that a resolution is brought before me. An answer that at least will give me somewhere to go from here. I am also asking for support in general. My life is sadly lacking friendship, other than dh, for quite awhile now; and you ladies have come to mean a lot to me in this short time because of that.
Thank you.

Oh, FC....I am so glad you shared with us. I will be praying for you in all areas you specified. I am also so glad you found us at the HS Spot...you will always get plenty of support and love here from us!
As far as friends go, I understand. It is shocking to me that "cyberspace" can provide such a "real" place to share together an become good friends...but this place certainly has! I wish we did live closer though, it would be so nice to be able to just give a hug when it is needed!
Let us know how it goes and know that you are being lifted up!

Oh man, I'm sorry! I certainly hope you get some help for the problems and answers to your questions! It's miserable going through stuff like that, and it makes it more miserable when you don't have reasons or answers!
You are certainly being prayed for now! We're very glad you're here, and hope you make some new friends soon. But for now, here's as good of a hug as I can give you!

Thank you so much, all of you!! I'm feeling kinda worn out and sore, but I wanted to update you all on what's going on.
The doctor found several ulcer spots in my colon and stomach (not severe at this point..) His initial diagnosis is gastritis. I go in in two weeks for the results from the biopsies he took of my colon and stomach tissue. He also wants to do another test on my gallbladder checking for crystals or sludge, and depending on what he finds there he will move on with removing my gallbladder. He also wants to do a laproscopy to look at the outside of my bowels, to rule out Chron's.
My mom stayed here today while dh was working and let me rest, so that was a big help.
Thank you all again. It means so much to me!!

Glad you are feeling better. Thank you for letting us know how you are doing. Been praying for your quick recovery. Sounds like it could be a case of colitis which is a less severe form of chrones.

Thank you, all of you, for your kind responses and prayers. They mean so much!
I think I am about as rested as I can get. I'm just smiling as much as possible and waiting for the rest of the appointments. At least the overwhelming fear has subsided! That is a blessing. I know that whatever it is, I can handle it.
So, I'll let this topic rest and update everyone in a few weeks when I know more.
Thank you all again!! Bless you!
My goodness, Flowerchild! You are facing a lot! I am just now getting around to reading more of the posts on the forum and have just now seen this. I had no idea you were suffering and am so glad you shared so that we can pray.
You probably know about kefir and its healing, soothing properties. It's a stronger relative of yogurt. I'm praying that relief will come from every angle--from doctors, from rest, from diet, from the love of your family, and miraculously, from God.

I'm sorry I haven't been on much.. things here are kinda sticky lately.
I'm just so darn tired!! Honestly I had chronic fatigue a few years back and I am not far from that lately. I am really hoping it's just the stress/ weather/ worrying. I have been trying to rest and rest some more.
Also, ds is looking worse for the wear. I know he is affected by this, although I try very hard to make light for him or "Mom's gonna lay back and watch you build a ship!" etc. But, he is a kid and kids just know when something's off. He is fair complected, as I am, so when he is tired or not feeling well it really shows! Therefore, for the last several days we've been pretty much sleeping and resting and doing very quiet things.
Anyhow.. it's nothing to worry about or anything.. I think I am finally just breathing a little.. if you know what I mean.. and it's hitting me how much I've been holding my breath.
Thank you again ladies. All of your kind words mean so much.
"Nothing to worry about or anything..." ?? Hmm..mm.. I wonder about that. I'm hoping the festivities of the holidays won't further deplete your energy. It's always so hard for me to admit when things seem overwhelming, so I want to encourage you to consider opting out of any activities which might over-strain you. Sometimes the wear and tear isn't all that needed.
Blessings to you and your family!
