Update on our first week

back at public school.:cry: Monday went very well, after the incident with no bus (turns out the sign at the end of the road was twisted and the driver thought she was on our road when she wasn't) Joyce came home all excited and said she had had a really good day and she really enjoyed it. The highlight of that day was the call from Beth. I was a mess at that point so her call was right on time!! Tues. - totally different story! She has been on a high for almost a month now about going back and I knew the crash was inevitable but didn't expect it that fast! Sorry if this is tmi but she missed the bus because she was on the pot. Okay, I made arrangements with a neighbor to borrow their car. Joyce is in the bathroom sobbing, saying she wanted to go sooo bad but she felt so weak. At this point I'm boiling because she had told her father and I that we wouldn't have this behavior this year. I sent her back to bed and decided to let her sleep as long as she could. She slept until almost 12:30 that afternoon, got up complaining about her sinus' so I gave her an allergy pill and that helped. Wed. she did much better but it still took me forever to actually get her up and she almost missed the bus trying to get her shoes on. Yesterday there was some improvement because the driver warned her she wasn't going to wait on her in the mornings any longer. Tuesday she sat out there for almost 5 min. Anyway, yesterday she improved in the morning a little more but the kicker was last evening when she came to me and said in a pretend crying voice "I just realized something strange about myself, I LOOOVVVVE schoool!!" "I don't know what is wrong with me!". This morning went much smoother! It helps that she (so far) loves her teachers and I told her that having more classes will be good too. I found her at the table last night looking through her Geography book on her own.

Thanks again for the prayers. I know how Leslie feels right now as my dd has the dgds for at least today and my house is empty and quiet!! I wouldn't want this very often, but for today it is nice!! Anyone want to come over for a cup of tea or coffee?!!:lol:

Jennifer, I will be right there - I wish I could come down and have a cup of tea with you. I enjoyed so much our time spent together this last spring. I think of you and Joyce often and pray for you. Just remember, come to this forum any time, some where there will be something that will get you laughing:)

I am so glad she had such a good first week. I had a feeling she would. ;)

Those quiet times are nice, that's for sure...but when you get too many of them, it can be a little difficult. but enjoy them when you get them! I am going to start doing more scrapbooking during the day to help on my days I don't have anything going on.

Hope next week goes just as well, if not better for Joyce!

My quiet day didn't last long because my dd wasn't able to get tomorrow off and since she had appt this afternoon she brought them around lunch time. My quiet time was spent mopping floors!! I actually blew 298 minutes ( you do the math!!) talking to my sis Beth A. That was a treat because the babies actually behaved! She told me I still need to hang around here becauseshe knows I have made wonderful friends on here. Joyce is complaining that she wishes there was school tomorrow!

Jennifer, I am so glad Joyce is liking school now. I wish I could drop in for a chat. I don't drink coffee but I sure love to talk! We start back tomorrow and as fate would have it I got sick Friday. I made it all day with Babyboy but I did go to the doctor. I stayed in bed a lot yesterday and had a pretty awful day. Today is a little better but I couldn't go to church. I am hoping I feel well enough to start school in the morning because I want the girls to stay on the same schedule as the boys public school if we can. I hate being sick. I have so much I need to get done for tomorrow! Have a good Sunday. Beth

I am happy Joyce likes school. Please keep us updated! We love her and you! I know that when I feel stressed or whatever...I come to homeschoolspot and I feel much better!
