I don't really share these with many people, but I am so proud of myself that I finished writing a song for the first time in YEARS...probably like 7-8. I have been writing songs since I was young, but never have I totally finished one with lyrics, notes, melody, and harmony, etc. I have never produced a WHOLE song. Well, I wrote out lyrics and a melody, and two friends of mine are going to help me (who also write songs) finish it, one of which is our music pastor and friend who is a professional recording artist...I get the pleasure of singing with him at church every month! He is an amazing talented artist (especially for being only 26 years old) and he is going to help me out, along with another friend of mine who is an amazing piano player. Here are my lyrics, if you'd like to read them. It is a sacred contemporary Christian song. It is about how life's weights have been taking a toll on me and how I long to just see Jesus and leave my hurdles behind me. I wrote it on the way back from a trip up north last weekend when I had nothing to do but think about life for 3.5 hours. I hope you enjoy it. http://homedaycarediva.17.forumer.com/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

V1:
Inside, I whisper a prayer divine
I close my eyes and lift my hands up high
In hopes that you hear me cry

I can't, do it without your helping hands
Miracles and wonderful master plan
Open my eyes to see, what you have in store for me

Chorus:
When will I see your face
When will you rescue me from this place
When all my fears dissapear
I know it's not what you envisioned here

I want to get to know
The soul inside the Holy Ghost
The perfect son with eyes of light
You love and wisdom and your might

V2:
My soul, is tired of all the hurt inside
The needless weights of life's tearful cries
Fill my days with no end in sight

These chains, must come free so only faith remains
With your love and Holy warm embrace
Get me through the storm, so life it worth living for

Back to Chorus x2

That is great. Dh and I were just talking the other day about how writing music was a talent we just couldn't get. I think you have to be EXTREMELY gifted to do it!

Love the words! I'd love to hear ya'll sing it too! THink that once you get it worked up that you could video it and share the video?

My brother got almost all of the music talent in my family. I can sing and do harmony, but he has written hundreds of songs, and puts the music together, give him any instrument and 20 minutes, and he'll be playing it! He records his songs and does all the playing of the instruments and all the singing parts by recording over---I don't know how they do it, but he does it. Anyway, it's amazing what he does! Why'd HE get ALL the talent???! ;)

Thanks. I'm not sure what we'll do with it. I am hoping to use it at church, but I'm not sure if I'll record it or anything. If we videotape it I'm not sure our camera is equipped to do that...it's old. I'd love to record it on a cd though somehow if I can.

That could be the "heart-cry" of every Christian, JenPooh! It makes it even more meaningful, knowing you wrote it. Thanks so much for sharing it!
