Chewy!!!

I don't nomally like cruncy cookies. On little trick...always take the cookies out right when the edges just begin to turn brown but not yet. That way they are soft and chewy. My cookies are hardly ever in for the length of time stated on the recipe.

Jennifer R

Btw, one of my favorite oatmeal cookies are the ones made with the butterscotch morsels. With my oldest dd out of the house and my ds halfway there I don't make things like that as often.

06-28-2007, 07:43 PM

Well, if I have the stuff to do them I'll try them this weekend. ;) If I end up... with child as Nellie said ;) then I'll tell dh to blame it on her cookies.

I just made some:

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
dash cinnamon
1 t. vanilla (just poured it in)
1 t. salt
1 t. baking powder
2 eggs
2 cups sugar (I do the scoop from the bag method)
1 1/3 cup oat meal
1 bag chocolate chips

Used mixer to mix everything (sugar and shortening first) then everything else and hand stirred choc. chips. (would love to add walnuts but kids don't like them)

bake 350 for about 9-11 minutes depending on how big they are and how crunchy you like them.

KrisRV
07-09-2007, 09:30 PM
