I gave up soda for over 7 years now. I drink:
Water -sometimes with a piece of lemon or lime in it.
and
Lipton Decaf with a bag of Green Tea or Lemon Zinger thrown in.
I have tried other black teas and always seem to come back to Lipton. If anyone has anything else I might like to try let me know. After all these years doing this I really like to drink water. I take it with me almost everywhere. I just purchased a new bottle to carry it in too by Nalgene it's pink and says Life Is Good with a big smile on it. I really liked the bottle I currently have it's green and has a gel around the outside, but on the inside...if that makes sense, and the top is black with a little spout in the middle that does not spill out. I wish I could have found another one of those. It was purchased at Wal a few years ago.

I drink Symfre tea. Hot and cold. 1st thing in the morning, I make 2 1/2 cups (I have a little teapot that holds that much). I drink a cup hot and the rest I drink cold. It helps my allergies, besides I really like the taste. I get this at my chiroprator or the health food store. It's about $11 per box (loose tea) and lasts me about a month or so.

Sadly, I'm a Coke addict - Coca Cola that is. :D
I drink Coke - I've been trying to limit it to about 20 oz a day.
Water. I do drink a lot of water. I try to anyway.
Gatorade. Fruit Punch flavored. I don't know what it is about it, I love it! I could ALMOST give up Coke and drink Gatorade! But...I need the caffiene!
My husband likes iced tea - I home brew with 2 quarts water - 6 decaf black tea, 2 decaf green tea.
I like my iced tea as Decaf Vanilla Peach - I use 3 French Vanilla, 3 peach, 2 decaf green tea bags to 2 quarts of boiling water. I let it steep until the water cools down. My husband hates this tea - he calls it girly tea!
I also like Sangria - but can't drink that during the day! LOL. I've been known to make our Sangria recipe with grape juice instead of red wine so that I could drink it all day long! LOL :D

Green tea is my favorite drink in the morning. Sometimes I will drink coffee but have really cut back. A few years ago I was putting a pot away by myself.
During the day we drink many different drinks; Lipton tea, soda, Crystal Light, lemon aid, juice. I guess it just depends on what we have. Water is a regular drink around here. We drink it throughout the day. I love to have a hot cup of tea before bed.

We drink iced tea for dinner and into the evening. I drink hot tea when its cold. but try to drink water or crystal light in the other times. I have a few blue cups that I use only for water so they dont pick up taste of anything else. i love ruby red grapefruit juice and drink it occasionally.

I like coffee but about this time of year it gets boring and I usualy switch to something springy like iced tea , it does not matter to me if it is cafine or not, I am one of those people who relax from a nice warm cup of coffee in the evening? Something to do with my metabolism?
I like smoothies, especially when its made with fresh juiced juice and ice and yogurt! YUM!
I often drink water with a tiny bit of anything else in it, could be lemon, juice, cola, whatever!
I like iced coffees, but mostly frapacinos
spelled the wrong I know!

Angela, we go through 2 gal. of tea a day (Wal-Mart brand), too. I do use decaf though. If you need to wean yourselves from decaf, buy both and use half and half. If you use the small bags, use can gradually use less caffinated and more decaf. Keeps the caffeine headaches away. :)

Try doing half caf/half decaf for a few weeks, then do 3/4 to 1/4, then complete....the transition will make the taste difference more subtle. And, yes, there is a difference! LOL. My husband noticed at first....now he likes the decaf....:D

I haven't had soda for many years either!
When I get a bad headache I'll drink a cup of coffee for the caffeine. That's what works the fastest and best---better than Tylenol or Ibuprofen---which are hard on liver and kidneys and stomach.
I drink lots of water now.
When it's hot, a may drink a Gatorade---but it's high in calories, so I don't drink too much of it.
Sometimes herbal mint teas.

I need to drink more water, too. I love Dr. Pepper, and the Diet Vanilla Cherry Dr. Pepper is EXCELLENT! We also drink a lot of lemonade and grape juice. We used to buy multiple gallons of cranberry/other fruit juice cocktails every week until we started a diet and had to cut back on the juices. Lemonade isn't any better for us, but it's cheaper so we haven't gone back to the cran juices even though we haven't been on the diet for a while. (Need to get back on the diet!!) My mom dated a coke exec when I was a teen (not a proud moment in my life)...
BUT...Mr. Pibb and Dr. Pepper were at one time the same drink. It was distributed under different names in the north and south. Dr. Pepper sounded more "north" or "official". Mr. Pibb sounded more "southern" and friendly.
At somepoint (fuzzy now, this is 20 years ago being told this story), Kalil (who distributes RC and A&W and somethign else I can't remeber), bought the rights BUT leased the distibuting to Coke & Pepsi. I think it's still depends on WHERE you live, WHO distributes it. In AZ, they sold BOTH Pibb and Pepper! LOL :D
Now...want to get into a discussion, lets bring up Mt. Dew and Mello Yello! LOL :D

Ok my question is how can we keep EVERYTHING free of sprays and all. Where we live we have a truck that drives up our 3/4 mile drive to spray for mosquitoes and all. In the spring a plane flies over for Gypsy Months and so to call things organic how can we? The coffee we get says organic and cost organic but how can we REALLY know.

Great point!
I have some friends who are in to "all natural" chicken; free range and killed only when someone purchases them. For this, they drive almost two hours to purchase their chicken from a chicken farm. They call in advance and the owner kills the chickens and cleans them. When the chicken is picked up, it is still fresh.
Here is the problem my friends never looked at. They didn't realize that chickens, even free roaming chickens, when raised in mass, develop mites and other pests on and under the skin. This causes the chickens to pick at themselves until they loose their feathers. Sometimes they will even start picking at each other because chickens are cannibalistic. So when in mass, many farmers will dust their chickens with a pesticide. This goes into the skin to get any mites below the surface.
Not to mention diseases that chickens in mass can produce when they are not vaccinated.
When she heard this, she went back to purchasing store bought chicken.
Chicken farms that sell fresh, free range chicken are subject to regulations as well. Only they call them all natural and people pay an arm and a leg for it. I told her she should raise her own but she doesn't want to kill them.

thats what Iw as gonna ask, re bugs, we dont buy organic brand stuff, much because last time I bought some Ihad to get all the bugs off of it, then whatever was left of it was not a whole lot!
I hate bugs worse than I hate that people have to spray for them for the most part.
When I grow my own, I am in control of what I use, we have used dishsoap mixed with water , and vinegar and water too, they are easy and safe for us as we also wash our foods in these when needed!

OK Ladies! I'm late coming in, but let me give you a recipe for the BEST hot drink around! My best friend's mom made it in high school, and my kids LOVE it!!!
Russian Tea
2 cups Tang
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 pkg. dry lemonade mix*
3/4 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup + 2 tsp. instant tea
Mix thoroughly and store in an air-tight container. Add 2 Tablespoons to one cup of hot water.
*This recipe is from when you could buy a package of Lemon Aid Mix. Now, if you use a canister, fill it to the "2 Quart" line! Also, I don't add as much sugar as it says. I figure there's sugar in the lemonaid, plus sugar in the Tang. So I figure it's sweet enough as it is!

I must have my cuppa caffeine in the morning. I tried tea instead of coffee this morning and didn't wilt away from a brutal headache ;)
I go on little kicks where I will want ice capps or slurpees or something, but in general it is my one coffee and water.
Oh, and maybe some wine ;)

Yeah, it is! They add healthy stuff to it too. There's a shopping Center a group of us ladies used to always go to the beginning of December every year. We planned an all day excursion, and it was great fun! There is a Jamba Juice place near it, and we always stopped there first. VERY good!
Now some of those people have moved away, so we don't do that anymore, and I miss the Jamba Juice, as well as the fun time we had together!
