Ideas for gifts for Mom?

What are your plans?

Anything you would like as a present?

I'm just sending my mom a card. She lives almost two hours from me. It is hard to pick a card for her though. They have all these "you were always there for me and supported me when I needed you" type cards and that just doesn't really apply to my mom - at all. I love her because she is my mom but I don't have all those gushy feelings for her.

Now for my gift I just want to go have lunch after church and then have my kids behave themselves and not fight with each other for the rest of the day!!!!! Now that would be an awesome gift. I used to get served breakfast in bed but that was before we went to church. Now we don't have time for all that on Sunday mornings.

I am getting my mom a hanging basket of flowers and a card.

We are celebrating my little one's birthday that day. My family is coming up. So I guess it is like a birthday/mother's day celebration. My little one was born on mother's day. That is not why the party is on Mother's day. We are having it then because I am busy Friday and Satruday and my parents were unavailable Sat.

I would like to buy my plants for my garden. Because the last two years I didn't do well caring for it my dh is sounds like he will not allow me to do another one. For goodness sake...we planted two days after I got home from the hospital after giving birth the one year. Last year I was overloaded with school and a little one. Just off my game, trying to adjust to having a little one again. Didn't get in the backyard all that much. However, I fear this will haunt me forever. I LOVE gardening...I hope he changes his mind.

I know that my husband will take the kids out to get gifts or get their input anyway.

I really wanted a barrel of flowers for the patio. Because having a garden is out with the water situation in Arizona.

We are going to Maccyo's mexican resturant (my mom and step dad and all of us) for dinner Sunday.

I lost my mom when Gabby was a baby. I used to send her Mother's day "gift" boxes with lotion, soap, hair products, things I thought she would like, other times I would send her flowers.

For me: I broke my glasses the other day and am wearing one contact lens for distance, the other eye allows me to read without reading glasses. So I could use some new glasses, but that would be too sensible.

Well, I am not sure what I am doing for my mom yet. I don't even know what we are doing. But after reading these I think maybe a small plant and something else.

I bought my mom a super sized laundry soap and fabric softener. I give her gifts like that, because she's on a fixed income. Last Mother's Day I bought her a case of coffee.

For myself, I gave my spouse a list of household jobs I wish he'd do but he declined. I don't want things, I want little things done around the house. Small things.

As for plans, there are none because he works that day. I'll probably see if Jeanne and I can do something.

My mom is living with my sister now and doesn't need anything at all. I know she loves to sit in the sun room Freddy built onto their house for her and watch the birds come to her feeders so I bought her a new feeder and one of those decorative shepherd's crook holders you push down in the ground so she can hang it where she can see it. I think she will like it.

This is the first Mother's day I had with my mom since 2000. Seven years.
We moved to California in April 2001 and had a major falling out shortly afterward which was finally reconciled just before Christmas 2006.
My Jacob and I are going with my mother and her DH to a nice brunch. Afterward we might meander the quaint town browsing the shops.

My Mom is in NJ and I am in GA, so I won't see her, but I sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and the kids made her cards.

Of course I will call her as I do every weekend, but the best gift I will give her is when I visit in June when she has her knee surgery. It will be a long recovery, so I am happy that I can be there with her.

These are the flowers I sent her.

I have an idea of what my day will be like, but I'm sure there will be surprises along the way.

We are taking MIL out for brunch, so I get brunch out. Plus I picked out my own gift. My DH ordered these garden statues for me from Disney Shopping. When we move from place to place I like to decorate my RV sight, so I will set these outside with my other Disney items.

I usually have a surprise or 2 along the way. Two years ago my DH got me a beautiful mother's ring. Last year the kids got me a Mickey charm for a necklace and a Mickey watch.

I am excited for a great day.

These statues are like this except I got Mickey, Minnie and Pluto.

How big is that statue?? The Donald is super cute.

Sounds like you will have a wonderful day!!! You seem like a great daughter so I am sure you are just as great as a mom.

We hadn't had pictures made of the kids in way over a year so I took them for the very cheap Walmart deal like $6 and I bought a frame and I am giving Scott's mom a picture in a frame. That is all we can afford at all. I think it is a nice gift. She will like it since she hasn't had a picture of them in forever. My mother is deceased.

I am getting a card from Scott and the kids. He got one when we were in town on Wednesday.

For Handsome's mom, we took pictures of the girls together and sent her a copy. My mom is coming up for two or three weeks. We are picking her up next Friday. So it will be after Mother's Day but my sisters and I are planning a lunch for her.

As for me, I do not care. I would like another rose bush for my garden but it doesn't matter.

Oh Lorna...pictures are the best gift!!! I love getting pictures and I know my family loves getting them. I would rather have something homemade or a picture of a loved one than any diamond or ruby.

I am hyper- livid at the florist I used to order my mil and gmil's flowers. I got an email from FTD about the arrangements available, so I called the florist then sent Dean to pay for them. Well, they told him those prices were 'old', so each arrangement was nearly 10.00 more. Old? I got the email like Monday. They wouldn't take FTD coupons from the sunday paper, because the bouquets I ordered- and the word 'bouquet' was in their title!-were not truly bouquets. What???

I won't be using them again.

Dh sent his mom a couple of pictures she asked for of our garden with really close up pictures of Bees on the rosemary bush! Hubby is an excelent photographer!

I am lost with out sending a card or flowers or anything, last year I sent mom n old dvd movie and some snacks she loved but never got to have cause the kids got thier snacks at my sisters or got into hers hehe, two boys what can you expect?
I get to go out for lunch, hubby made a reservation for Claim Jumpers? if you know what that is it means I will have lunch AND dinner already cause thier servings are HUGE!
I asked kids for a card type cell phone, even though I know they are not a really good deal at least I will have one for summer in case of emergency when I got to beach and stuff with kids!
I need to drive up to Wa to get stuff so need a phone with me incase car breaks down. We had that happen years back when kids were younger and we had older van. It worked out okay but I did NOT like dealing with it all on th pay phones, and I could have called a tow truck or AAA could have helped me out so much!
The kids had a blast cause we actually stayed the night in a nice hotel and everything lol.
we decided we would stop there whe we go up teh freeway to Wa each time its just me and the kids that is.
Anyway, I asked for that... an electronic Bible, ....a clean house, ( ya hahaha) if I had a thousand dollars extra would want a new lap top, cause mine is barely holding up for ds9's schooling this year! We will pray it lasts till we finish up SOS!
but , seriously Id like a new purse, ( I like five dollars to 10 dollar back packs for purses, cause I always have SO much stuff to put in them!)
and no jewelry unless its a ring.
A Mom kinda t-shirt would be cool too!
or that hawaiian dress that I have been eyeing at Walmart! Lol
Those are all things I have mentioned to kids... we will see what they remember!
I usually end up with dollar store something that they picked out and I have to find a way to use. sigh, I have TONS of photographs of my kids, I love them but theres not much more room for frames!

I just got back last night from my Mother's day trip!
We went on a 3 day camping trip to Cedar City ,Utah!!
We (dh and 2 dd's) went to Zion National park for 2 of the days ( boy are my feet hurting!!) and 1 day at Navajo Lake and going on some hiking trails around there!
It was a great treat! We stayed at a KOA campground in one of their Kamping Kabins (its a log house about 144 square feet in all, with a porch swing!!).
We paid for Friday night and Saturday was FREE ( they were having a fundraiser for kids with cancer, so fridays proceeds , plus donations and a pancake breakfast went to a camp for kids with cancer)!!! So it cost us $49 for 2 nights and 3 days in a log cabin!
We took over 600 pictures and a few video clips.
It was great and we had a lot of fun around the campfire!
We picked up some silver and copper jewelery for the 2 MIL's and my mom at an Indian trading post near Zion ( we told the Mom's that their presents will be a little late due to the trip) for their Mother's Day presents and sent those out today!

Crystal: ZION national park, though it is beautiful, is no where you want to go when you are in a moving truck!! Our mapquest took us through there, the winding road, the little tunnel they had to stop traffic for so we could get our moving truck trhough not to mention having to pay, to get through,

I"m glad you had a good time though.

I hope every one had a good time on mother's day. We did.---- even though Mac and I had to get over his grumpy ness because Mother's day is a sore spot to him since his mother died before mothers day and was baried the day before (20 years ago) but he still gets frumpy and takes it out on me, but despite that he tried really hard to do good things.
