I sure would appreciate your prayers right now. My daughter is going to be out of a job soon. I posted yesterday asking for prayers for her and her friends because they are closing their office. Now Babyboy has another sinus infection and may have to have his tonsils sculpted and his adenoids removed. Then on top of my sinus problem that has been going on for a week now, my mother was put back in the hospital today. I am so worn out and just need some prayer. I am so sorry to sound weak but my mama looks so small and frail in that hospital bed and it is just getting to me. Thank you all. Beth

I'm sorry, Beth. I know what back to back to back stress is like, but when it involves your mama, that takes it to a whole new level, doesn't it? I pray for health and healing and a peace that passes understanding.
I love you ladies on here, but the one thing I don't like about homeschool spot is not being able to give an actual hug when someone could really use one OR get one when it's needed! *smile* Other than that, this place is pretty awesome....I love how we can share our burdens w/ one another and KNOW that someone somewhere is going to lift our needs up to Our Heavenly Father in prayer.

Thank you all. Mama is too sick for surgery and can't breathe very well. She needs gall bladder surgery now. A surgeon is coming in to talk to her today. She is on meds. to try to improve her breathing. I just wish she could feel better. Beth

When we are weak, He is strong! When we fall down, He picks us up! "We will mount on wings as eagles! We will run and not be weary..."
I am praying for God's strength to fill you up! I am praying for you mama and for Babyboy!
I am giving you a cyber hug---(((((HUG)))))! I agree with Bev that it's just not the same as a real one! But, know you are loved and being prayed for!

I got to go see Mama twice today. She is not really any better but she is on antibiotics and blood thinner as well as oxygen. She is eating some and they are still trying to figure it all out. Still seem to think gall bladder is part of the problem. She misunderstood yesterday and told us the oxygen level in her blood was too low. That was wrong. I am not clear on exactly what is wrong because it was so late when she told me this part about the blood but she thinks the doctor said some level was way too high. She thinks he said carbon monoxide. Maybe I will get to see the doctor tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers. Beth

Beth, sweetie, you have your arms full to full. I wish I could help you all. Give me a call sometime if you need to talk ok... I am hear to listen....Sometimes it seem like it doesnt' rain but pour... but we are here for you all...
Who has power over your mother? Maybe they need to get there and talk to the doctor if they can't they can call the doctor and talk to him about what is going on.
We have power over my MIL and we know everything...
Right now she is sicker then a dog too. I don't know what is going with her? But between working 10 hour days and running after wards to take care of her I am tired...

Kris, My older sister is power of attorney and we got to talk to the surgeon today. He wants to re-run the scan of her gall bladder on Monday. He says he doesn't want to operate unless they need to because of her breathing. My mother is very independent and she has always been in control of everything. It is very hard for her now to have to let us do things for her. Pray for her to accept our help. We three girls (I'm the middle child) adore her and would do anything for her. She just needs to let us. I hope things improve with your mother in law. Beth

Beth, this is what I did with my MIL but then again My MIL is much older then your mom... I just tell her she needs to let us know what is going on because sometimes 3 heads or more are better then one.. and she has done enough in her life its time to sit back and let us do the worry and taking care of her and it's helped so far.. for how long I don't know..

Kris, It has been crazy here. Tornado warnings and very high winds for two days now. Mama is still in the local hospital and now they say she has bacterial influenza. I have no idea what to think. She shows no signs of the flu and feels no different than she has for several days. She is still on oxygen and antibiotics. The surgeon says he isn't going to repeat the gall bladder scans right now. He wants to wait and see how she feels later in the week. She is under quarantine now. We can still see her but have to wear masks and the hospital people wear protective clothing as well as the mask and gloves. I don't understand it at all. She is pretty down and of course wants to come home. She hasn't smoked or complained about not smoking since she went in. I hope she won't start smoking again but she has smoked for almost 60 years. Please continue to pray for her. We are all doing all we can to keep her spirits up but it is hard. Thanks for thinking about us. Beth

Thanks Kris, I am feeling all weepy today. I can't watch the news much longer or I am going to be a basket case. I have a former foster daughter who lives close to VA Tech. I think her father was a maintenance man there years ago. Mama is about the same. I don't know what else they can do but wait for her to get over this mess. I appreciate your kind words. Especially with all you have been going through yourself. I need to hear some good news soon. Jen's baby would be just the thing! I hope she has an easy time and we hear something soon. Beth

I just talked to Mama and she sounded some better. She was complaining about the food so she must be getting better! Still no idea how long she will be there but now she thinks they are not going to operate. My little sister is home for a few days and she went to visit Mama which made her happy of course. My sister has to go back to Wilmington, NC on Thursday to work on a store she is closing there. My older sister visits every day and I will try to go tonight. I am the only one with kids still at home. I call her during the day and that makes me feel better just to be able to talk to her. Thanks for the kind words again. Beth

I spent a couple of hours with her this morning and finally got to see a doctor. He thinks she does not have to be quarantined anymore and he called what she had, haemophilus influenza. I had to look it up to even spell it. She is feeling some better each day. She still doesn't know if she has to have her gall bladder removed because she isn't eating enough right now to cause it to hurt. She is supposed to be on a regular diet now to see if it acts up. If it does and is really bad they feel like it is safe to put her to sleep for surgery now. If it can wait a while they want to send her home to rest up and get stronger first. But I know her. She will have a cigerette before she is half way home. Sigh. I don't think she will ever stop smoking. I know she is shortening her time with us but you can't reason with her. We have tried for years. She may have to come home on oxygen however and if that happens she can't smoke or my brother in law will freak out. He is a fireman and knows how dangerous that can be. Thanks for thinking about her. Beth

Sloan, on the mask I know it may seem strange but if your Mother is in a weakened state then they don't want her to catch anything else. My Mom has Multiple Sclerosis & we deal with that all the time because of her weakened immune system--a trip to Walmart can cause HUGE problems because of all the germs. In a hospital situation they want to keep the employees from transferring germs from one patient to another.
On the food---if she doesn't like the hospital food & is on a regular diet--can you bring her food she likes & is used to? Most floors have a microwave. We have to do that because my mother is allergic to milk & eggs & dietary has a difficult time feeding her.
I will pray for your family & send strength.

Someone else said we may be wearing masks to protect her. I never thought of that. Thanks. She won't let us bring any food right now. She says she doesn't want anything. I just don't know. She is stubborn that is for sure. She is better I am sure of that. Just has a way to go still. Thanks to all of you who have prayed for her. I really appreciate it. Beth

The girls and I had to go get some bread and on the way back home we drove by my sister's house. My sister was sitting on the front porch and Mama was sweeping around the front door and was in great spirits. She is smoking again already. I knew she would but I had hoped maybe she wouldn't. I know it is hard for her after all these years but I just worry about her breathing. She is going to be taking something fairly new that is supposed to help her cravings for cigarettes. We will see if it works. Beth

My mother is feeling some better. I thought yesterday was a lot better. I made a pound cake and took her some. She is eating a little better now. Not a lot by any means but at least she is eating. She doesn't have very much energy so mostly sits in the sunroom and watches tv or talks to her two cats. She doesn't really like company except family so the days are long for her. I try to go out and see her while the girls are working on something and Freddy can watch Babyboy for a few minutes. When she feels better they can go see her too. She just is so weak. Thanks again for the prayers. Beth
