I got this off another forum that I belong to. I liked it.
It is actully similar to what I need to hear right now.
Homeschooling is not microwaving, it's crockpotting!
The teaching process and the learning process take time.
Homeschooling is not like microwaving --
where you take a child out of school,
bring her home, zap her with the textbooks,
and 'ding' she's ready!
Homeschooling's not like microwaving.
Instead, it's more like crockpotting ! You prepare and
assemble all the ingredients in place,
then you stand back and wait...and wait...and wait.
And at some point later, you catch a whiff of the
wonderfulness of the crockpot.
It is a process that takes time,
takes a little heat (which you can adjust),
and eventually it works.
The results are not instant.
So allow your situation some time to work.
It is worth it.
