Okay, I made this recipe tonight and thought of you all. My oldest daughter (Haley - 7), usually wants biscuits and gravy or cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Well, sometimes I do the biscuits and gravy thing, but I always have to tell her that cinnamon rolls wouldn't be done until after lunch time (unless I open a can).
On another web site I found this great recipe. I've made these twice now, and they are so simple and good.
EASY BISCUIT DOUGH CINNAMON BUNS
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cold butter or margarine
1 cup cold milk (I think you only need about 2/3 to 3/4 cup of milk)
Filling:
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons WATKINS cinnamon (or whatever kind you use)
chopped nuts, optional
In large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until its crumbly. Add milk and stir until well combined. Turn onto floured surface and knead 8-10 times. Roll or pat into a rectangle. Prepare filling by softening the butter or margarine in the microwave and them mixing in the brown sugar and cinnamon together well - spread this over the biscuit dough. Roll up from the long side of the rectangle and cut into 12 individual rolls. Butter (or cooking spray) a muffin tin and put one roll in each. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
I usually put the leftover ones in a plastic bag in the freezer and then just get them out when needed and warm them in the microwave.
