Found this while surfing the web, waiting for breakfast to cook. I have a whole bunch of these. I used these as exaples when I was telling Dh the hows and whys to homeschool our children.
I use them for my daughter when we go places.

I used those books all the time when my girls were little when we traveled and stop to get something eat you would have to wait awhile what better thing to give them do then a book and time would go faster. Haven't used them in awhile maybe need to check in them out again.

We use lots of scholastic books - workbooks, teaching guides, novels, fatual books. They are great, the kids and I both love them. We are lucky because there is a factory outlet here amd they are only $3-5 each!!

I had to put a moratorium on my self because I bought too many workbooks, both schoolastics or anything that came across my radar that looked good...

Ok, that makes me feel WAY better. I thought I was developing a "workbook disease" and was going to have to attend some type of 12 step program.:D

I think I need to join the 12 step program soon. In this little RV I buy every book and workbook I can fine. Just think if I had a whole house. My oh, My I would have fun.

You guys do NOT wanna know..........
Apparently, in our area, it is popular to dispose of perfectly good, mostly NOT marked in workbooks and text books from the local school system..... In the THRIFT STORES!

Oh lord, help me!

They sell these things for like $0.25 each!

I went nuts, at first, then had to banish myself from the stores... But You would NOT believe the things I found for so cheap. Like two (Not written in) spalling books for the twins. First grade, too! Wow....

Then I found a Social Studies Text Book for first grade, then another and then he TEACHERS EDITION. ALl for under a $1 total! WEIRD. And they are good books too! Content-wise and condition!

I may try to sell some on ebay over the spring, summer... but ebay is so expensive now a days. I used to sell a ton, but the cost of business is really steep for me, at least.

Anyway, you are not alone.
I also had to ground myself from printing everything I find....... I now BOOKMARK everything.....

I have a thing for workbooks also. I keep telling myself that I will intergrate them all so it isn't a waste of money. Why do I lie to myself? I need to stay away from educational stores until next fall. lol.

Jen, I too am guilty of buying the workbooks at the thrift stores, $.25 is hard to pass up, I figured if I didn't use them, someone will. I will take them to the hs meeting and see if anyone wants them. There are always large families that cannot afford to just go out and buy curriculum. This helps them and I feel they won't go into the trash if no one buys them at the thrift store. I love books too, and don't want to see good books thrown away.
