We spent several hours (and a few dollars) at Barnes & Noble yesterday and found some really cool stuff. We have a birthday next week and Christmas coming up so hopefully the grandparents will ask for ideas () . We did get Leap Frog Code Word Caper video, which they liked alot. We had a four hour drive home from a business trip and they watched it three times on the way home. I also found two books that I am going to start working out of...

The 2,000 best games & activities: This one is divided up into sections of what the activities teach and then further broken down into age sections. It looks like alot of fun and we'll probably do these a couple of days a week.

Kitchen Table Play & Learn: This one has 30 lessons, each containing around 10 activities. There's a lot of great stuff in here, but most of the lessons are more like playing, not reading and writing...a great way to trick Casey into learning.

We're doing some moving at the old office today including getting my desk and computer set up down there, then I think I'm going to do some kind of schedule with clocks showing when we do each activity so they can learn about the clock and help me remember to move them on to the next activity when they are doing something independently. I'm hoping to bring down a few of their puzzles and games, some play-doh and things like that for them to use when they're playing independently and limit the TV to one video in the AM and one in the PM, with at least one being a Leap Frog or some other kind of educational video. I also have another great Arts & Crafts book that we'll probably work out of and I'll let them do things like painting on the back side of cheap Christmas wrapping paper, sidewalk chalk, etc...

I am also going to try to check on a co-op type school that meets one day a week and offers several different courses that I think they might enjoy and might give them some outside socialization...and the classes are very reasonably priced.

So, just wanted to update and let everyone know what progress we've already made and also mention the books...everyone have a great week!
