Just want to let everyone know that are from Texas that Aug. 6, 7, 8 2004 is tax free day for shopping. I have never done it before so don't know what it amounts too so will be very excited to see what it does. Some people here said it's school clothes and things like that. I was going to check in on supplies, computers, software and things like that. I don't know if other states have it but check in on it. Sounds like it nice. I will let you know when I tryed it. What it all does.

Same thing for SC. I'm revving to go, bank account isn't quite so ready though. Good thing for student loans :D .

Our state did that before, then stopped. If I'm not mistaken they said they lost too much money.

I live in upstate SC. I buy all Vicki's winter clothes and all school supplies I can get. That tax can add up. I am thankful we have a weekend like that.

NC has it to on the same days (Aug 6, 7, 8). It sure adds up when buying clothes, shoes, and supplies (it is also on computers and software)

Just be certain that you understand what is tax free. :D

Anything that is over $100 is not. I could be wrong but...I think it only applies to clothing being tax free.

Happy Shopping!!!

I got started at Sam's Club today $100, Walmart tomorrow $???.

I don't sweat the clothes because we get most of ours at the thrift store, my kids still skid on their knees  . Not to mention jump fences  . Even without taxes I would be spending too much.

 I just arrived home  This was my first year in a state with tax free day. I'm just happy I got there early. I'm tempted to go back out there

The main thing I like is the fact that stores in my area are going out of their way to get people in their stores. I went to AC Moores craft store today and got a 50% discount on a $20 music kit. I shop like crazy, come home dazed and sleep good at night knowing that I don't have to do it again for another year. With the prices slashed so low I just make sure that I get everything I need when I get there.
