My mouth is still open wide in shock! With this type of event, we had no idea if we reached enough in the community and the homeschooling groups to fill up our conference center. WE had no way of RSVP to this type of event. Its just impossible.
We had 200 chairs laid out, and we had very few empty seats when the program began..I could count like two
When we got back from supper at 5:45 with the other leaders, we had people already lined up to get in, and the program didn't start until 6:30..We had 4 greeters and they were kept BUSY with taking money and passing out programs..
I saw all those people, then I got choked up wondering *How am I going to make it to the front potem to speak to all those people?* So I said a quiet prayer and made it through the whole night. The program was over at 9:30 and we had a total of 35 doorprizes to give away...Thats not to mention tons of freebies from Office Depot and a bag full of homeschooling information.
We had two dear souls that stuck with Sheila and I to the end of the night to clean up and walk out at about 11:00 ....I know we all got home close to midnite.
I would give words of encouragement to those who have homeschooled for a while or not. (Sheila has only hsed one year) That if you have the spirit of giving , that leading comes from wanting to serve others, not be served. :D Anytime, something is done in light of that, you will always get so much more back in blessings than what you think. I know I did! The hugs and tears I received from those just starting, or struggling, especially the two single moms I met, really moved my heart. It made all the inconveniences, if any ,worth it!
I know She and I took tons of pictures, and we are still recovering <yawn> that hopefully we can get those looked at and see if we can post them. The look in our eyes will be of pure fright in those pictures! LOL LOL  Then a quick prayer that calmed all :D
I wanted to share my feelings and the HUGE night that we had yesterday! :D
Blessings
