I am off this am to enroll my boys in public school, I am
sure of the need to do it, but it still is painful. Hope you all have a good school year. Mary

The youngest needs OT therapy which he can get at the school my sisters teach at. The oldest tested behind his grade level, he is a bright kid and needs more than I have given. The youngest needs to be taught by someone other than myself, it has been a struggle as we now know that he has vision and motor skill problems which have caused a problem in learning to read. I do feel that I am "giving up" and 'giving them away" in a sense. They deserve more. And YES, I feel guilty, awful etc. Pray for me today, I need it!!!

Do not feel guilty. You are giving them the best education you can. Sometimes that means sending them to someone else to teach. I think that it is a very unselfish thing that you are doing. It is hard to do what you do not want to- even if it is for the best.

Prayers are certainly coming your way. You shouldn't feel guilty about doing what you feel is best for your kids. I wouldn't consider that "giving up" but trying to find the help they need in another way. I hope things work out for all of you. This may be exactly what they need.

Again, good luck and many prayers.

Don't be hard on yourself, you're doing what you feel is best, and that's what's important! Just remember, if you get the urge to hs again, it's always possible. You may find other things, curriculum, methods that you feel you can use with your boys and be able to try again. But, maybe not, maybe they'll get the best care and guidance where you're sending them. Then that's great. Always do what YOU feel is best for you and your family, not what others say is best!

May God bless you and your boys!

I'll repeat what everyone else said!!! We all make the best decisions we can with the information we have. No one decision is perfect. So do what you feel you must without guilt. Of course, we're all strong supporters of HS'ing, but we're even stronger supporters of each other as an individual. We'll be behind you in the decisions you feel are best for your family.

Amen to what everyone said. They said everything I wanted to say. You are doing whats best for you and your family right now.

Like Jackie, said we support everyone on here. And believe me they have. I love them all.

Mary, you can come back and hobknob with us, you know. Don't be a stranger just because the kids are in school.

Just the fact that you see a need shows you're not being selfish or giving them away. You're being their mother and seeing to their needs.

You can still be involved. Volunteer as much as you can, join the pta, go to stuff that the school has.

The only reason I'm still h.s.ing is we didn't have the tuition for the school I liked. Next year Jeannie is going to school and that's all there is to it. I feel 'guilty, awful, etc, etc,' because once again she'll be here by herself without friends again. She's already planning her b.d. party and the only kids that will be there are her Brownie troop mates.

They are buliding a new p.s. here and I might even try to get her in there if money is short next year again. I'm like you, Mary- I think Jeanne needs more than I can give.

You'll be okay, Mary. So will your kids.
